Sigma 35mm f1.4....?!!

Ear shot is nicely detailed but they really could have gotten better subjects!

I like my 35L but it wasn't as mind blowing as I'd expected it to be. I've taken some very nice photos with it, but it doesn't have that effortless feel to it when taking photos, like the Sigma 50mm 1.4 does. Oddly I find the slow as a slow thing 85L to be amazing. So much so that the finished photo outweighs the slow focus.

I'm still wondering if Canon are releasing another 35L as rumour sites were saying there's a mkII on the horizon, but now this F2 is being bandied about I think that might be the new release.
 
Never used the Canon 35 or 85 really, I'd like to but nobody iI know has one!

Plenty of G glass though :-D
 
If you assume the seller is safe, then your only question is how they will deal with the import duty. If they deal with it for you in the same way that Digital Rev/******* would then you're fine; but from what I can see on the listing there is nothing to suggest this. In fact it states if you incur import duty that they will not take responsibility.
 
The lens has made it to a few real world user's hands in the Far East and POTN has a thread on it right now. Initial reports are positive:

1 - Sharp
2 - Good colour rendition
3 - Good built quality
4 - Good control of CA
5 - Nice bokeh but some reports of it being a bit "crazy"

Onestop replied to my email, if I order tomorrow I'll get it Friday~Monday.

Impressive timing and I have Monday off but am away on holiday so won't have weekend play time unless it arrives Friday daytime!

The bokeh being crazy, clarified:
Easy since I took this shot on purpose. The branch is half a foot behind the wide open focal plane in harsh wind. The 24LII would have produced similar bokeh in that situation. I just knew it would cause people to over react

From what I can gather, this lens is as good if not better than the 35L or G in nearly every department except bokeh quality?
And by this I mean bokeh is good, but not great?
 
I think it is safe to say that this is a great lens, period.

Just need some good photographers to get it and take some photos with it, so far all we got are test images, not seen any "proper" photos yet.
