Had a bit of a go at this last night. Seems pretty good actually, like a mix of Planetside (PC) and a game like Joint Operations (PC).

Firstly though, and I might be wrong about this, there doesn't seem to be a way to form your own squad. Instead, you just get thrown in with random players. I bet I was just missing something here.

Secondly, the reload animations are poor but this is probably a beta issue. There doesn't seem to be any melee animation at all just yet.

I liked most of what I saw last night but will properly check it out tonight. One thing that is very impressive is the 3D map of the battlefield you get when you press select. Also, there didn't seem to be any lag on the 128 player game I hit and almost everyone was using a mic. This def feels more like a PC game than anything I've ever seen on a console before.

Its really really getting to me this :) I just want to play and i totally deserve a key :P. Wonder if it has anything to do with hotmail ? I mate was rocking gmail styles and got his even though i applied before him

People on the EU Playstation forums are hypothesising (mainly because an official answer is not forthcoming) that the entry to the draw (16,000 entries) was 1st come 1st serve BUT the e-mailing of codes was not in that same order. Sounds rubbish to me, but this beta is not organised very well tbh and these ppl organising it seem to not have a lot of money and/or resources.

It's only a beta? Hardly the end of the world. If I had known yesterday people felt this strongly about it you could have had my key :p

In Other news. This just appeared on the Sony boards

Sorry you haven't had any news so far today but I genuinely had nothing to tell you ... until now! I won't go into details about what went wrong with the process because that doesn't help anyone, but suffice it to say we have learned from this experience and so shouldn't encounter the same problem again (at least, not on my projects).



I realise those people who registered earliest deserved their codes first according to the wording of the competition, so I can only apologise unreservedly for disappointing you and letting you down. Contrary to what some people might think, Sony do care about their community and as a face for Sony on these forums, I make it my job to do my best to help you guys.



Anyway, enough waffle and onto the good news... I can confirm (according to the Ops team) that everyone in all regions who registered but never received their code will be sent one over the course of tomorrow, probably by 2-3pm UK time. Furthermore, in an effort to try and do a Quantum Leap ("put right what once went wrong"), we will be sending out codes to the remaining 20,000-odd people who registered. So, if you managed to register on the site before the competition closed, I am told that you WILL get your code tomorrow (barring any network, ISP or email bounce problems that are beyond our control).



For those of you who missed the registration period, I believe the Community Admins are planning a mini giveaway for each region to give people an extra chance. I'll leave it to them to post more info when they're ready though (probably later this week).



Again, sorry for the balls-up but I hope this goes some way towards making amends.

That's great news, I'm glad they're doing something about it!
I'm away all next week, so this way I might be able to play the game this week, instead of when I got back! :D
