Hmmm, the more I think about it the more I think the whole 256 player limit is pretty much a massive marketing gimmick (though my knowledge of the game is limited). In all honesty having 64 players is 'good enough' to demonstrate action which you feel at least a part in it.

With 256 it just appears that the map/battles will be so 'sparse' that youll just feel you are a small cog in a larger machine and without any idea of progress and how you are doing overall its hard to get excited or feel like you are actually 'winning' something.

I want to get excited over this title but its really hard to - especially with little things like its very generic name which feels more an afterthought than anything. Sony appear to have decided to work out the USP first and then make a game around that single idea...

I just hope Im totally wrong - but its wierd to feel so negative over such a game - hoping someone like Apo can put me in my place ;)...

ps3ud0

I assume the p2p distribution is for the beta only? The full game will have proper download servers etc?

It wont have p2p distribution in full retail release this is exactly the way they done metal gear online and to my knowledge they didnt have that in there full release .
Not sure why they have picked this method to deliver it though :(

Saying that have,nt got my key yet so more uncharted 2 for me :D

Gutted never knew thats how mgo was done did have it but didnt play online for long enough to have a update .

If thats the case with this hope they dont have it in MAG full release , and sony change there method :(

MGO used P2P AND HTTP.

Unfortunately, both seem to fail at random points now which is a shame because I really enjoyed MGO.

2.6GB update now on a 1gb line....

Should I let it run over night? Or turn it on in the morning to download while I'm at college?

It seems likely this will be used if there were any large DLC updates post release. From what I've been told it's because of cost and it also exceeds the patch file size limits.

If your having trouble downloading I'd wait until they've fixed the resuming bug.

A bit annoyed, my internet crashed twice tonight, 1st time was after about 2hrs of updating that big patch, so had to start again, then it crashed again after about 1hr, so 3hrs wasted bandwidth with a stupid update system.

Got my code earlier, it went to my junkmail :( oh well downloading now - looks like its going between 300-800KB / sec - will leave it on overnight to update :)

Done

Just left it downloading over night on my crap line woke up this morning and it was complete.

Can't wait to get a game on it

Did it actually stop working yesterday? As I was playing at 8:30 and I could get on hehe.

I found the pop-up fairly bad at times/ graphics a bit off in places. Still shooting is good fun :D
