Silent Hill 2 PC

PC version was originally not on Konami's cards...
UPDATE SEP 26, 2024: Silent Hill 2 remake developer Bloober Team has told IGN that quotes attributed to CEO Piotr Babieno (that the studio "pushed Konami very hard to release the game on PC") were "taken out of context" and a "misrepresentation" of his words.

According to Bloober, Babieno's comment was "a casual remark" in response to a shareholder's inquiry about the developer's intentions to release Silent Hill 2 remake on PC.

Bloober said Piotr's actual words were: "The Steam version has generated considerable interest, and we believe that, in addition to PlayStation (for which the game was initially announced), the Steam version will also be a success. Both we and Konami are pleased with the collaboration and are confident that this is not the end of our journey together."

Classic IGN getting it wrong as usual. I don't know why anyone still uses this site for news or their useless reviews.

From everything I have read so far it does seem it is faithful to the original, and has various options to have that original gameplay feel with the modern GFX. That's all I want!

It looks great with Ray Tracing just pre-ordered the deluxe edition to hopefully start playing it 5am sunday morning! 5am is the confirmed unlock time on 8th Oct so as 48 hours early access is a bonus feature of the deluxe edition you have to hope its going live on Steam then!

This is becoming the norm now on the deluxe versions of the games and its making them sell as Youtubers will want to get in on the early access before official release to make videos.

Diablo 4 also did this when it released last year, think Space Marine 2 also did this

Good initial reviews, wait don't more reviews go live like today?
15 hours to beat is probably based on being a completionist

heres the stats for the original

so probably about 10 hours of game play in reality
so like £6 at an hour at full price

The review also confirmed that it will take between 16 and 18 hours to complete the game for the first time, which is almost double the length of the original, so it will be very interesting to see how Bloober Team expanded the original.

Still have my 3 x CD PC retail box from the early 2000s...it was actually one of the first at the time games to feature GeForce branding on the box along with a dolby soundtrack :D

Silent Hill 2 has several different versions...PC was one of the better looking....but the game looks slightly different on different platforms due to the way the fog is rendered!

Just hope this new release does not require an RTX ££££ edition for smooth gameplay!
