Silo - By Hugh Howey - May 5th

I really want to enjoy this but as others have said, can see it being cancelled.

I'm part way through Wool on Audible at the moment and to be fair, I'm finding the book a bit slow too.

Not finding it as dull as some people but it does seem to spend an awful amount of time retreading the same ground and doesn't feel like ~40 minutes worth of content by the time you get to the end of an episode - in fact often feels like it is just getting started as it gets to the end.

Something that makes no sense to me is the little details and I'm not sure if it's going to be revealed later to make sense.

In this week's episode he asked for some headache tablets. Now unless they have a manufacturing centre and I've made the wrong assumption that all their suppliers were locked down their with them, they would need millions of things to last hundreds of years.

Something the show doesn't illustrate well but the concept it there are 100s of levels with whole levels or several levels dedicated to different things like manufacturing.

I know nothing about the book or story but i am guessing perhaps?

The twist maybe, outside may be all good and even in the modern day? whereas for generations this community are descendants from large group of preppers?

No. lol its actually a lot more "boring" its a normal nuclear apocalypse and a fallout style set of numbered Silos, some doing better than others. A rebellion of governance etc cliche AF. Its all been done before. its a real shame. To anyone with zero other sources to take this show then im sure its a unique idea.

The TV show is one of those roughly based on the book. The 1st is are also a little slow tbh. Good enough wanting me to keep on reading.

I'm a big fan of the books, and I've read the whole lot and all that jazz.
I like the series, its decent, and they are following the lore in the best way possible but I am enjoying reading all the theories in this thread just as much.

You lot are gonna be gobsmacked.

If it's a dream or they are in 'limbo' / purgatory I'm smashing my TV :D
