Silverstone 2012

wow, impressive, i sweare the British Grand Prix is the only grand prix that sells out during the hole season.

edit: probs not, just thought of the German GP....

I think Canada sells out too.

Spa sells out for grandstands, but due to its size I think GA is pretty much unlimited.

Basically, if you want to know the most popular races for spectators, look at the ones on Bernies "I want to drop them to go to Azerbajahn" list...

Was it you who bought something second hand hospitality tickets but weren't allowed into the actual hospitality?

Yep, the dude didn't deliver us the lanyard passes which would have entitled us to the VIP and grandstand. But for the price we paid (which was the same as normal GA tickets) we couldn't complain.

The centre of the circuit is so much more laid back, just strolled in and there's plenty of places to view from with no competition for viewing areas.

Also allowed us to get up at 8am rather than 5/6.

Hi guys can anyone recommend a good spot to sit for quali? Got a general admission ticket for the sat so need some advice!
Got a seat in Becketts for the sunday but after a good quali spot!

Anywhere around Luffield as you see the cars for a decent amount of time and there are a number of screens so you can keep up with who is topping the times.

Or Becketts. The Maggots/Becketts complex is mind blowingly impressive in an F1 car, and Qualifying will be when they are 110% on it.

Make sure you stand at the entrance to Maggots at some point during the weekend too, being 5m away from a 200mph F1 car is just fantastic!

Thanks- will give Luffield a go, I always have a grandstand seat so I wasnt sure where was good for General Admission!

Have ordered myself one - anyone had these before, are they worth the ££?

Yep, used them a few times and I think they are worth every penny. That said though, the Radio 5 coverage you get no longer has Crofty and Davison, so your going to be stuck with Leggard!

But the ability to hear proper commentary and see what is going on and live timing makes them invaluable. They also rerun other events and sessions when theres nothing on track so you can catch up on anything you have missed.

Where we were sat last year. The noise made my ears crackle. Weird sensation.

Pretty good place because (although I didn't pan all the way right) you can see the cars just coming out of hanger straight (although they're quite a long way away) all the way up to the first corner and you can see down the pit lane and the podium.

Club used to be an absolutely epic GA spot. For about 4 years in a row I was on the first park and ride bus to ensure a good seat at Club.

Its a shame the redevelopment and subsequent increase in grandstands has removed a number of great GA spots :(
