More details of the way in which the Big Shuriken fits in the SG05 (and, by inference, the SG06) at http://www.hardwareluxx.de/community/showpost.php?p=12502651&postcount=593. Apparently, it fits inside the box, but makes contact with the side wall. Workable, but far from ideal.I think it fits the Zotac board but I would imagine it overhangs the mb to much to fit in the SG05 case, this is only an assumption and I wouldn’t mind it compatibility with the SG05/06 confirming
The EVGA GTS 250 fits the SG05 perfectly, I have one in mine (with the Zotac 9300 ITX). It is essential to use a GTS 250 with a cooler that exhausts the hot air through the back of the case (as the EVGA) because the airflow in the SG05 with the card installed is not perfect and any other type of cooler would raise the MCP temperature considerably. The EVGA GTS 250 has a single 6 pin connector. Can any one tell me which 250 gts cards will fit in the SG05 case and were do i get the 8 pin connector, i have the 6 pin plug spare straight off the power supply and theres a two 4 pin molex to 8 pin pci express adapter that comes with the card. but the only two molex i have left is on the same rail is that ok?
you know I think martynrbooth was real unlucky that he picked the only GTS 250 card the for some crazy reason uses the huge reference cooler used on the GTX 285 etc..
I mean they die shrink the GTS 250 to reduce power and heat and zotac in the end decide to use a ridiculous size cooler and PCB. Is the card significantly overclocked? cant say Im to familiar with it.
Looking at the Zotac GTS 250 pictures I get the feeling that it might be using the 65nm G92 chips which were on the initial GTS 250s. This is also suggested by the 8 pin connector which implies higher wattage.I mean they die shrink the GTS 250 to reduce power and heat and zotac in the end decide to use a ridiculous size cooler and PCB. I've just measured a Gigabytes GTS 250 card and the PCB is a smidgen over 8" long, it also only uses a 6 pin connector.
Possibly a better option?
