Silverstone TJ09B

I have a TJ09S (no side window) waiting for me at home. Personally, I'd love the black one but you know what they can be like with sticky fingers :D

Well imagine my total surprise when I got home to find that I'd been shipped a BLACK Temjin TJ09 by mistake!!

I won't be returning it - it's utterly gorgeous :D

Just need to get rid of that beige DVD-RW.....

Pros:

* Superb build quality - for aluminium it's extremely sturdy and the finish is great - you won't scratch off the black unless you take a knife to it
* Lots of space (main selling point for me)
* Side loading HDD bay (yay!!)
* No stupid door
* 4 x 120mm Fan slots - lots of cooling
* It's SilverStone :D

Cons:

* Will suck up a lot of dust through the side grills as there's no filter.
* HDDs and DVD drives require screws - having used thumbscrews and rails in my last case, this was a bit of a chore but no biggy. Only added 5 - 10 minutes to the build

The pros more than outweigh the small niggles with it. It really is an amazing case. This thing can swallow an 8800 GTX whole and still have room for seconds :D

And the rear 120mm that`s all you get,i have installed green led fans,looks like i have the borg in my case :D

i only have 1 ide hdd atm , i may get a sata 2 on in march or april. Do you think the amber fans will look good, and maybe some white cathodes?

i havent ordered the case yet, but it will be the black one with the window :cool:. Ill put maybe 2 blue or white cathodes in, 2 akasa ambers at the top. If i do get a hard drive fan it will probably be an amber as well.

Are the stock fans noisy. I find 2100rpm at 21db hard to believe ?

If you add 2 fans to the top of the case, should they be blowing out or in (like the Lian Li A10), and if blowing out is better, should the rear fan then blow in ? Or all fans blow out ? Saw no mention in reviews of fan orientation. Assuming I am using a Tuniq tower which can blow in either direction.

Also, would it be worth adding a silverstone bay cooler to the front (like a cm 4in1 module) with a 120mm fan. Idea being the fan would blow cool air in towards the tuniq heatsink, and the rear fan and top fans would exhaust hot air.

Last question directed at clone :
To get the Tuniq to fit (as in slide the mobo tray with tuniq fitted into case), you remove the 4 screws from tha rear support bar that runs down the left side of the case (as the tuniq is taller and this support bar blocks it). Is this correct ? The reason I ask is because you mentioned that you have to take out four screw`s "per side" at the back support. Just wondering why you have to do it on the right side of the case too. Thanks.

Dont know about the stock fans as i took them out when i built my rig.
Top fans suck hot air out as well as the rear fan.

You will find out why you need to remove both side`s when you do it :D

Mines Just arrived along with a new Dell 2407 :)

Just need OC too ship the rest of the stuff I ordered so i can build the New PC :(

I've just put my main PC into one of these cases - very nice, but the stock fans are too noisey for my liking.

I've got 2 SilenX fans blowing out at the top, and will replace the 2 Silverstone fans with 2 Noiseblocker Ultrasilents, plus another Noiseblocker Ultrasilent in the HDD area.

Problem is though, I don't know how to remove the Silverstone fan that draws in air behind the HDDs. I've tried unscrewing the screws at the top of the metal enclosure but this didn't help.

I'm probably being a bit thick, but can anyone give me a quick idiot's guide on how to do this?

I have tryed to remove that fan also,by the looks of things you have to unscrew the had section and remove it from the pc,or if you have a screwdriver that has a ubend,take out the two top and bottom shroud screws maybe,got to buy me some allen key to take the front panel off.
