Silverstone TJ09B

Towerproblem.jpg

No they dont stay off,you have to take them off as the tower is about 1mm to high for the case when you slide the motherboard in,you have two of these and another two at the back of the case per side like i said a 5 min job and your done. :)

Hey mate,

Drop me an email/msn - [email protected] - wouldn't mind asking you something.

Cheers bud

Jon

cheers clone. you posted that before. think I went temporarily insane and was not sure what you were on about.

as soon as I can afford it I think I will order one of these TJ09's without the side window. I am starting to hate the looks of my mirage more and more everyday.

one thing - did you need to use a 12v extension cable. I will be looking to use an 8pin eps extension as the 4pin extensions that normally come with these cases don't cut it with a quad.

No extension cable was used by me :)
I love this case and ive had a few of them, the cooling setup is first class.

Tasyweat - are you actually replacing your GTX's with XXX editions ? Looking at your sig it sure looks like it. Can I ask why ? Usually stock cards overclock to almost the same level as XXX versions. If anything a lot of the XXX versions of XFX cards in the past have artifacted. Same with some of the EVGA cards. Can't see why anyone would buy these especially if they have G80's already.

Because I'm nuts and my cards won't oc past 600/1880

Dude, I have wasted money in the past but this is the biggest waste I have ever heard of. You are replacing 2 gtx's with xxx versions because the stock ones won't overclock that extra couple hundred mhz which only matters to benchmarks. Maybe you get an extra 4-5fps in games. Surely it's not worth spending the bones of 800 quid. You would be better off waiting for the G80 refresh or R600. But it's your money ;)

<edit> I have my BFG's running at 650/2000 as well. They do manage slightly higher (665/2140), but 650/2000 does me.</edit>

Ditto. I'm wide eyed with amazement. Give that money to charity if you're so eager to spend it. This is an UTTER & COMPLETE waste!!

That's a bit strong isn't it? Some years ago I started working for myself (as well as having a full-time 'proper' job) and I bought myself a Porsche Boxster 2.5. Within 3 weeks of my getting the car Porsche released the 2.7 version. All of a sudden, mine was no good. After a further couple of unhappy months I almost punched someone in a pub when they said 'Oh, so it's not the 2.7 then?' in the same voice they would have used to say 'You FAILURE!'. So I changed it. The very next day I went and ordered the same car in the same colour with the same options on but with the 2.7 engine. It cost me £6000 and 9 months on a waiting list to change the cars over but once I had, I felt much happier.

Now, I don't think I would do it again, but at the time it was my status symbol, and it was tarnished. So, whatever reason tastyweat has for changing his graphics cards, I'm quite happy to smile and offer to buy his old ones :p

Dont worry about the mess of wire`s ive got the same problem behind mine :D

One bit of advice with your build, flip the psu round so the the fan is on top,two reason`s why.

Cable`s run near the motherboard and can be made to look tidy.
The front 120mm fan will blow cool air over the psu intake fan and help to run better.

Im going to watercool my setup soon, got a swiftech radbox coming and im going to fit a 120.02 thermochill rad off the rear 120mm fan, just got to order my part`s.

clone - would you say this case is a no-no if you are NOT running a modular psu ? For example with the LianLi A10 it takes 2 psu's so you can use that 2nd psu section to hide cables. The TJ09 does not appear to have anywhere obvious so I expect the cables that are unused would be bunched up and left on front of the psu. Just curious as I know a couple of people considering this case and they both have BFG1kw or Seasonic 850w psu's - both are not modular.

It would look ok as long as you take your time with the wires, example use black cables tie`s on the psu cable to make it look like one big cable with extra wire`s branching off where needed.

The only reason i got my psu was it was able to run two 8800gtx`s and with luck it was modular, you can hide some wire`s behind the motherboard tray if needed.

Got my case for sale in the MM :D

Nice... and yeah I wasn't sure about the psu... but with the ventilation hole on the base of the case - it's almost perfectly lined up with the psu fan - air coming from the psu seems nice and cool and the fan is rotating @ very low speed...

the airflow in the case is v. decent and components are nice and cool - if things start to heat up then yeah - I'll rotate the PSU, but i'd rather the intake fan went straight for the graphics @ cpu... rather than graphics @ cpu @ psu

Yeah - I got this PSU for dual 8800s & noise & five 12v rails, two for each graphics and one for cpu... was a bonus that it's modular
