Sim racers - what are you running?

What do ppl do for sound as just got into this last year and wear headphones but prefer speaker sound but placement not sure and a cheap setup for now. Only have a g29 and fgt until get direct drive

That is well smart.

Please can you upload some footage of the motion rig being used to it's full potential (getting divebombed/t-boned/punted off track at turn 1 at race/series of your choosing
:p)

haha, I was worried at first but it must be clever enough to know when you have a major crash. I've flipped upside down before but nothing happens.
I assume major changes in motion are filtered out.

I'm also in VR, and find the immersion just awesome.

Racing in the Formula Ford at Brandshatch, my stomach goes when I momentarily lose traction going through turn 1, like my mind is filling in the feeling it knows should be there.

I can't imagine what it must feel like with a motion rig to aid in that. Jealous!

Why not join us.. it's a good laugh!!

@SimonRigga I have thought about it, but the amount of faff it was to get everything set up on iRacing has put me off trying any other racing sims in VR.

The race in the Caterhams at Virginia did look great fun though.

I'll see if I can pick it up cheaply...

lol don't watch the latest one, we're trying hard to forget it ever happened

Just taken delivery of my GT NEO.
I'm at work so at present I've only taken it out the box to have a quick look and press some buttons.

I have mulled over buying this for ages, was looking at a cube controls wheel for a bit after reading some people saying it still felt cheap and plasticy.

I honestly can't think why you would need to spend more than this, it feels absolutely solid, not toy like at all.
buttons all have a nice click. etc.
very happy (and hopefully will still be happy later when I get to try it out on the track)

Yeah, it's a very solid and well made rim. A bargain at the price.
It really doesn't matter if it's not actual carbon fibre/aluminium when it does what it's supposed to do.

I found the grips too small for me, but nothing some handlebar tape couldn't solve.

The Sim Magic GT Neo looks impressive for the price.

I'm very tempted to go for a 20nm VRS Direct Force Pro wheelbase, along with the VRS Formula Lite wheel.

£880~ for the wheel and base currently on sale, which seems a very good price.
