Sim racers - what are you running?

Very nice. I'd love a dedicated sim rig but just don't have the space at the moment. Not since the other half has stolen half my man cave for her home office.

500 zip ties later....

not been a bad day today. wasn't overly happy with the rear speaker stands I bought, but they'll do. Just waiting for extra strong velcro so I can stick the sound controller under the wheel.

buttkicker and tablet next

Lovely clean and neat. Are the belts the "tensioning" ones? Was thinking about a set of belts for my flight sim. Bit of overkill, but potentially amusing.

I'm just getting in to sim racing after buying a GT Omega Apex stand during the summer for my old trusty G27 setup. Although I enjoy the set up, I'm starting to look into Fanatec gear...
My issue is that I may have missed the boat with the CSL DD; pre order for June 2022  and also the the wheel selection is insane... I think what I'm looking for is either the ClubSport Wheel Rim GT or the ClubSport Steering Wheel Formula V2.5.

Does anyone have experience with these wheels?

Well they are two very different wheels, if you run a lot of iracing you will eventually need both styles and with the wheel rim you linked you will also will need a fanatec hub of some kind which boosts the price up.

If you just play something like ACC then get the formula wheel.

Cheers, I was expecting either wheel to be compatible from the get go, also I've just came across the McLaren GT3 Wheel, bit cheaper as well.

I've been trying out a few games Raceroom, ACC, PC2. Not really settled on one as yet. But i prefer GT3 cars and F1 so maybe the formula style wheel is what ill consider. Such a long lead time on the CSL DD though!

The McLaren is a fantastic wheel. The defacto really as it's amazing value for money.

Get your pre-order in....worth the wait!

hah, yea I'm thinking ill pre order the CSL DD and when I get the despatch email order the wheel and pedals. Not sure if the extra £££ is worth the 8nm upgrade on it though?

Yea, that's making me think about the 8nm version, I'm just unsure if it's worth the extra cost and I suspect the 5nm will be available sooner than June.
