Sim racers - what are you running?

You'll find most other people haven't considered it either for some reason.
I think a lot of people don't really experiment and just go with the common thing.

A lot of the youtube videos give awful advice too, in my opinion.

Hi all!

Finally got round to getting myself into sim racing and recently got an Logitech Pro Wheel & pedals which I'm loving but I know I need to get a good rig to get the best out of it.

I've been looking at around a £700-800 budget and looking at the GT Omega Titan cockpit and chair plus a monitor stand.

Just wondering what people think of the brand and whether this would be a good fit for my wheel and pedals? Happy to take advice from people in the know! Currently using a 42" LG C2 OLED which will be used on the rig.

Thanks in advance!

GT Omega are a fantastic company. Solid products well priced and Brilliant customer service.

I'd suggest with your budget looking at the Prime cockpit, better suited for a direct drive setup, Profile cockpits are much stiffer and so much more adaptable/customisable and adjustable. I genuinely just wouldnt recommend a tube style cockpit these days.

Thanks I actually meant the prime one think I've looked at that many I accidentally put Titan! I've also been looking at sim lab, although more expensive they also seem well regarded? Looked at the P1X Pro rig, but it is more expensive.

They use thinner alumimium profiles for what its worth compared to sim lab and Trak Racer from what i have seen but at anything at the 160x20 profiles, even the thin ones of those are solid as hell.

I opted for the Sim lab because i liked the thicker profiles and liked the overal look and feeling of the company.

GT Omega is a good company and are UK based as well

Personally I'd stick with GT Omega. Simlabs is very much well regarded, they were early pioneers of profile rigs bringing it mainstream. Whilst i'm sure the P1x Pro is a brilliant product in my opinion theres just nothing that the P1X Pro offers over the Prime that I can see justifies the increase in price except its aesthetics, it does look good. However, In my opinion the non standard profiles and angled uprights are going to lead to more hassle adjusting, less adaptable, and the move away from a right angled "standard" will cause issue with compatibility/configuration of aftermarket addons. Whilst it looks good, just seems to me they have prioritised form over function this time.
For example. the first thing that comes to mind is the Trakracer Keyboard tray/desk wouldnt work, nor would the GT omega one.

However if that sort of thing dosnt bother you and you like the aesthetics it could very much work for you and I'm certain its a quality product, I suspect you'll be in for a long wait though. Then again after Black Friday I'm not sure what the stock levels of the prime are like either.

Black Friday was the ideal time to buy new sim racing gear.

I saved on my P1X and accessories from trak racer for example

I was looking out for Pedal deals over the sales. Sadly nothing popped up that took my fancy.
There were some decent deals over the last few weeks though.

I'm looking to upgrade my cockpit next summer. The prime looks really good. Has plenty of accessories for it.
Assume it's easy to add a flight stick to the side?

Of course, Thats the beauty of profile rigs, they are so adaptable with the standardised T-nut keyways you can add stuff till your heart is content. There are quite a few companies doing flight stick add-ons. TrakRacer for example. If you were going down that route I'd buy the extra side arm for the prime if I were you. Cant say I've ever tried to run a flight sim on the same rig but I've seen plenty of people do it. Maybe someone else here has more experience that can talk you through the pitfalls. However yes its very much possible. I'd guess the biggest issue will be finding the right seating position to use either setup whilst not compromising optimum driving position.

Meca EVO1 Hydraulic pedals
Simtrecs pedal base

Holy ****, these are good pedals. That brake pedal, how real it feels. Still dialing things in but damn I'm impressed. had to shorten the throw on the Throttle and still waiting on the long pedal plate to arrive. The Moza SRP's wernt bad by any stretch of the imagination. Wernt for me though as I never really got on with the Brake pedal due to the long throw. I have spent the last couple of months eyeing up pedals, I think I'm going to get on with these just fine.

Just built a dual racing/flight sim rig over black friday. Got a great deal on prosimrig1 setup.
Basically my seat is on a slider. Slide forward for driving and slide back for flight sim.

I have had to deploy my new boots of involuntary celibacy :o

The Meca's were killing my feet with socks and even with grippy soled slippers.
