Sim racers - what are you running?

anyone tried out the driver61 AI tool yet? I think it's brilliant

I've tried it and was pretty underwhelmed. I mean the throttle and brake trace is cool and all, but all it has done is give me confirmation of what I already know, I'm slow... I need to brake later on the gas earlier, no real detailed feedback on my driving style or line choice. Just very generic feeling. Hopefully its build on a decent AI model and can develop and learn as it grows. I can see potential however as it stands at the moment, at the risk of sounding a bit harsh, its a bit of a gimmick, still very early days though.

As for waiting list I think I waited ~10days to be accepted.

I've been looking at my laps vs. the Coach Dave ones using the Motec software.

They brake later and with less force yet still hit the apex, with obvs 20kph more speed. Oh yeah and then get on throttle earlier.

It's lke they are driving a different car to me!

I use the motec tool too, ive found the brakes certainly on the gt3 cars are really sensitive, the ideal pressure versus over braking is a fine line. If you have rumble on the brake pedal that helped me, i was putting way more pressure in than was required. Result was less pressure, more braking, later on brakes and higher apex speed

I’m driving the GT4 this season in iRacing. What you say about braking seems true for these too.

I might adjust my brake pedal so it needs more force for 100%. That should mean I’m braking less for the same pressure.

Just ordered one of these for my brake pedal: https://www.raceanywhere.co.uk/products/haptic-pedal-reactor-p-hpr-for-p1000-i-simagic

Last night I did a quick 30 mins testing at this weeks track. Twin Rign Motegi GP. I've never driven it before. I'm about 8 seconds down on a coach Dave Lap. FML.
Happy to have a look at the data if you host the file somewhere and tell me which car/brake bias your running, motegi is a tricky track, the full version takes a lot of getting used to

@john_smith, remind me, do you have the Simagic pedals or will you be mounting this to another brand?

Since fitting the Buttkicker, I'm now looking toward the next thing and this seems like it would be great for filtering feedback to certain devices

The ButtKicker Gamer Pro was really simple to install, cable wise it's plug and play, with a single USB to the PC - SimHub takes care of everything and gives you loads of filters to play around with. The amp sits on the floor next to my rig & the handy provided remote means I never have to contort myself to get down there to switch it on when in the seat!
To mount to the rig, I used a bit of spare profile and some corner brackets - I call it the dong...

And mounted:

I've lots more tweaking to do but I'm really happy with what it adds so far. The Mrs is less impressed that some of the vibration noise travels, I need to get her on the rig so I can see how bad it really is downstairs.

You'd find that buttkicker would be far better if you mounted it directly to your seat, or on a bracket that's attached to the seat.
Thanks, I might need to explore how it could be mounted directly to the seat; like most race seats it's effectively a fibreglass moulded frame.

I received the Fanatec setup I order on Black Friday (after being messed around by UPS...), but I'm finding the CSL Elite V2 brake pedal quite stiff with very little travel. I could probably get used to it, but I'm also keen for my other half to get some idea of driving a manual (clutch + H-shifter) so would prefer a bit more travel so it's closer to a 'regular' road car.

I came across this post where someone is using the Heusinkveld elastomers on the Elite V2's:
https://forum.fanatec.com/discussio...-pedal-mod-with-larger-heusinkveld-elastomers

OCUK are selling the elastomer set (£22).

Anyone know if this is a good option? Another option seems to be replacement springs via ebay.

Happy xmas everyone :D

Does anyone know where you can get Next level racing plastic end caps from I'm after a couple of 120x40 ones for the the end of profile
