SimCity V (2013) - screens/artwork and information

I've stopped playing it, doesn't seem to be anything else to do. running 3 of 4 plots in +10 mil a month and do a works...
Cities are running fine in traffic most of the time after over running them with trains, buses and coaches.

I'm bored now. :/

You could play the game without just building TVs? Try playing a tourism city, or a good-old-fashioned RCI city, rather than a production city. They are more fun as the fundamentals aren't broken (i.e. the global market).

I heard this mentioned on a thread elsewhere so thought I'd quickly test it myself (done on the test server so I could use cheetah).

0% tax
100% residential

no power
no water
no police
no fire department
no sewage disposal
no parks
no rubbish dump
no hospital

Result:

Currently around 1.6m population
(approval rating fluctuates up to 80+%)
no crime
no fires
no deaths or sickness

Anyone got a good guide for a tourist town? I've got $5m to start it with and have department of utilities and tourism, soon will have transport aswell.
I've got one casino in my mining town that's making $13k/hr so is doing ok, but I want a tourist town and just can't seem to make it work.

I find tourism fairly straightforward; build attractions, make sure you have good transport links (ideally mass, as your city will get flooded otherwise), place the attractions in high foot-fall areas and away you go!

That is advertising I don't mind at all, it first very well into the game. In fact I think using real world stuff, improves stuff a lot.

I'm trying the same thing for the lulz, but I appear to be producing garbage - any ideas how to stop it, or will they just never fail despite it piling up?

Yep still make loads of garbage, though strangely not much sewage. Makes no difference, and no illness or deaths.

To those interested it appears cheetah speed is back on all servers.

Yeah, EA really killed the concept, and the fact they were caught out in a lie about the always-on was the last nail in the coffin for most people.

I gave up playing the game and my refund is being processed by Origin based on false advertising and incorrect support information.
