Singapore Grand Prix 2013, Marina Bay - Race 13/19

Well.... that GP went from boring to escalated quickly in a moment. And what a spot we had, memory card and battery both gave up due to over use. Also did some awesome things after the concert. Pics next week.

I'll leave you with this after we just got our kebabs. Table at the Marina Bay Sands with cocktails and watching the GP2 race.

One of the best weekends I've ever had, if not the best. F1 Sing rocked bit was here with many Asian based expat friends which really made it!!

I would be intrested in the costs in your trip if you dont mind, wanted to do one of these for years.?? Jealous

Just give them a kers which is nearly as powerful as Drs but you can only use X seconds per gp
Use it offensively or defensive.. You decide

Bring back refueling and better tyres, so it's about racing to the limit and not looking after your tyres after the first lap.

You will always have limitations, if you arent saving the tyres, your saving enigines, gearboxs etc.
Even back in the good old days you had to save the turbos.

And just b ecuase you bringh refuling abck doesnt mean you wont limit the fuel.
Its usually faster to short fil, rather than to go all out. As the time savings is far more for low fuel than the extra push yoou get from burning masses of fuel.

I may be wrong here, but as far as I know saving fuel is mostly done on the straights by short shifting and lifting and coasting before the braking zone whereas saving the tyres means you have to take the corners at a leisurely pace miles away from the limit, which is exactly the opposite of what everyone wants. I'm not that fussed if a driver has to lift off on the straight a bit to save some fuel, but its a bit dull when every driver looks like they are on their out lap and get punished for trying to drive on the limit.

Hopefully you guys see where i'm coming from because that was a pretty rubbish explanation of what i'm trying to say

Also, someone said about next year's kers increase being just as bad as DRS. I totally disagree because with kers the other driver can use his own kers to defend, whereas if the other driver is against someone with DRS open then they literally cant do anything to defend it. well, they could try using kers to defend, but the other driver could use kers to attack, getting it back to square one with the DRS being undefendable

Im so glad i did not watch that today. Haven't watched a race in months and im not missing it at all. Only reason i watched 2012 is because Vettel actually got challenged by a guy in a much inferior car. Bring on 2014 hopefully it wont be a Red Bull car winning all the time with no competition. DRS is also a joke takes any skill of over-taking away. So boring to watch the guy press a button to over-take on a straight and gone. When u watch videos from the 80's/90's it makes the current F1 look so dull especially with this Red Bull domination.

That's what they did mid-season. Before the tyre change, RBR were on par with Lotus and Ferrari. Once the durable tyres came in, RBR were in a different league.

Think of it this way, in today's race, if tyres were more durable, Vettel would've continued lapping 2s/lap faster than everybody. Would like to see this?

This could certainly be done, but that won't stop Vettel from dominating + being favourite to win every race. I don't think it would make any difference to the racing, if KERS was made more potent.

Rival teams have to attempt to hire key RBR personnel. If they can do this, they will not only weaken RBR, but also strengthen their own team. If they continue to try going toe-to-toe with RBR, they will lose. The last 4 yrs have proved this.

I honestly can't see anything changing next year. A 5th title for Vettel has to be on the cards and he will definitely be my pre-season favourite for 2014.

Yeah because the late 80s/early 90s McLaren domination was so much more exciting

Only difference was 2 superior drivers in an incredible car whereas currently there's 1 with a good backup to nudge the constructors total along.

I loved the late 90s. 94/95/96 you had Schumacher and Hill (and Villeneuve in 96) scrapping it out, 97 Villeneuve and Schumacher, 98/99 Hakkinen and Schumacher, and it was always superb racing. No artificial nonsense, just balls to the wall racing with the occassional 'WTF!' moment a la Hill in Hungary, Herbert at the Nurburgring etc.

Too much reliability and too predictable now.

2014 could well be even worse, with such extreme rule changes coming in to play. The tactical calculations for track position, fuel consumption and KERS use / harvesting certainly have the ability to level the playing field, but equally they give the opportunity for one team to nail it from the start and dominate. Who'd bet against RBR? A brave man, but if RBR do win again then fair play to them.

That said, I'm really going to miss the V8s and the sounds they produce. Mind you, I'm looking forward to seeing which drivers can manage the hugely increased torque next year, and the subsequent tyre degredation for those that power out of the corners - should be fascinating.

The above should give a little clue - I'm looking ahead to next year. Vettel and RBR have got this one in the bag. It should be done by India.
