all max had to do was slow down and you can see him go into kimi

All Vettel had to do was not drive sideways into a car that was completely alongside. Also Verstappen SLOWED because he saw Vettel coming, he was trying to back out and he moved left slightly as well attempting to avoid the torpedo coming towards him. If Vettel doesn't turn sharply towards a car alongside Verstappen doesn't attempt to back out nor would he have pulled away from him.

But it's entirely not shocking whose fault you think it is and who is totally innocent.

You watch that back on the on boards and I've no idea how anyone can say Max should have done this or that it all literally happened in a split second he didn't have time to do anything short of teleporting out of there! One second he was pulling up alongside Vettel, Vettel moves across and he's got nowhere to go as he's got someone up his inside!

Sebs plan was to chop Max off going into turn 1 so he couldn't overtake him, Kimi being up the inside screwed all that up.

He's race leader, doesn't he have the right to the apex?

I'm no expert though.

No he doesn't, Verstappen is alongside, he has no right to the apex at all.

Watch something like Germany in 2014 when Massa decides the apex is his and ignores who is inside him then look at the 3-4 other pairs of cars going through the corner behind them. Those pairs alongside each other the car on the outside stays outside, those on the inside stay inside, all went through clean and no problem. Massa decides he wants the apex, flips his car and damages Magnussen.

Kimi/Vettel/Kvyat in Hungary 16, Kimi/Vettel/Max in Spa 16, Kimi/Bottas in Spain this year, Kimi/Vettel/Max here. What is the common factor, one idiot on the outside every time trying to push to the inside against a car fully alongside them.

All Vettel had to do was not squeeze him into Kimi.
To be fair 3 in 1 into a corner never works. I think its an unfortunate racing incident.

But it is also fair to say that Vettel was ahead of Verstapen and didnt touch him when he pulled in front of him, while kimi didnt move at all and Verstapen slightly moved into Kimi.

Vertstapen has no chance in the drivers championship as a distant 6th so why risk getting tangled and affecting the guys at the top. Hopefully he will mature

Vettel is beyond Max, it's Max hitting Kimi who then hits Vettel.

Nah, people aren't actually putting the blame on Max are we? Surely i'm missing some sarcasm..

Pack it in, surely not! Look at the bloody gap between Vettel's and Raikkonnen's front wings at the point of contact with Max. Their wings almost touch #NoHomo.

An interesting race up until when it dried basically, and we fell very quickly into the 'follow the car ahead by a couple of seconds to protect the tyres and cars'

he did.

go and look at the replay. he eased off a bit and went to the left where kimi was who also squeezed him trying to overtake him on the inside in a narrow track?
I didnt see any easing off just a swerve into Kimi. Anyway stewards will see the data, wether Max lifted or was full throttle

To recap,
1 it was a bad call to start a night race in the rain without a safety car
2 Vettel did make an aggressive move to the inside, but this happens with most pole sitters. Vettel was ahead when he made the move on Verstappen. You clearly see it from Hamilton onboard
3 Max was in the middle and furthest from the corner since Kimi was ahead by half a car length on the inside
4 Max has no stake in the championship race as a distant 6th, so sometimes best to retreat to fight another day.

I call it a racing incident but with no further action, but unfortunately it screws up with the championship race
