David Gill: "The new manager will have to have experience in both England and European competitions."

"We knew this day would come and we have been preparing for that."

"The board will take council from Sir Alex and Sir Bobby on new appointment."

I believe this is coming from an MUTV interview with him. Also:

Senior club sources are claiming that Jose Mourinho will not be the next United manager & wasn't in the running. [pa]

The weight of managing a club as big as Manchester United is huge, the weight of replacing Sir Alex is bigger.

That isn't to say he's bigger than the club, but that is to say the expectation replacing him must be absolutely terrifying just look at his record.

alex Mcleish,

with Ferguson in the background it would be a perfect fit.

i'd imagine the man with the biggest say in Fergusons replacement will be Ferguson himself. and I could quite easily see him bringing the right manager in that he can mould to have his dynasty continue as he sees fit.

Baines is world class, then again you probably have a different definition of "world class". no one actually agrees on what that term means.

Anyway does every player in the world have to turn into world class talent for them to be good signings

Every single player i've mentioned has been a top signing, even more so considering the money (or lack of) he has had to work with.

Moyes's signings define the term "inspired" because he spent hardly anything on them and has had fantastic performances from them, all of them could be sold on at a hefty profit at any moment.

You have literally no point whatsoever.

Yeah. Who could forget Rodrigo, James Beatie, Simon Davies, Per Koldrup, Nuno Valante, or Diniyar Bilyaletdinov?

Moyes has the midas touch alright.

The Jose stuff is coming from Martyn Ziegler, from Press Association, being passed about by Oliver Kay and others etc on twitter.

Jose Mourinho will not be Ferguson's successor, senior sources tell me. Moyes clear frontrunner. Story on PA wire. #pafergie

I think it's going to be Moyes, to be honest.

Class, thanks for posting Azza. You heard anything
your end about Moyes?

The normal people think he'll go, but there isn't any real certainty. Mainly due to United NY stock exchange status and the rules surrounding that... but there is this.

Increasingly hearing that David Moyes WILL leave #EFC to succeed Alex Ferguson at #MUFC in the summer

Mad news this, took me a bit of time to get my head around it. I can't see Mourinho at Old Trafford as he is about change & individuality where as the old firm behind Man U are not. I think with Fergie still being around the club they will look for somebody that is stable & steady that the club & Fergie can just tweak into a manager that can take over without creating any waves now or in the future.

I'm not a Man U fan but have to admire & respect Fergies record over the last 20 years, Kudos to the old boy I hope we hear a bit more from him once he steps down.
