They check from the number plate right? I will give my local one a shout on Saturday to see if they can fit me in anytime soon. I take it the reference number to quote is like an internal recall code or similar?

Suppose this is a good a thread as any to post this question:

What are peoples opinion on the new(ish) Fabia vRS 1.4 TSI?

The reviews seem to be pretty good:

http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/evocarreviews/252919/skoda_fabia_vrs_review.html

The price seems to be reasonable although the cabin isn't the most luxurious but for a hot hatch at that price what would you expect, so, thoughts and opinions?
They seem even more reasonable on the second hand market.

Ah brilliant I will look into this at the weekend. I will check the paperwork again to see if its been done and if not I will get this sorted! Cheers for the heads up.

Brother just got back, they replaced 3 coil packs, the 4th was the latest revision so didn't need doing.

My brakes are squeeking at the front of my vRS when coming to a stop from slow speeds or lightly pressing the brakes at junctions etc. Reading around it sounds like my brake discs/pads might need replacing?

Is there a way to check whether they do need doing without having to take the wheel off or pay someone to check it?

Put your wheels on full lock and reach around (oooo errrr) behind the wheel and take a pic with your phone... might get a good enough look at them.

Failing that just take a wheel off, it's not too much of a hardship and you get +10 man points

Few bits done today, first up was fitting the front bumper lips purchased 2nd hand (Milotec). No templates so had to do a lot of lining up and measuring.

Next up was a Powerflex dogbone mount. Went for a red (TDI) one as I read they are a bit softer than the yellow variant.

Last job for the day was replacing the air filter, copied the trend and got a Honda S2K filter and a silicone downsizer. Filters are only £18 each.
