Sky Broadband

Leased line = lots of money a month but guaranteed speed.
LLU = Local Loop Unbundling, what Sky's using to offer the free/cheap services other than Connect. Wouldn't help you though.

whats a leased line and this llu? that ive been hearing about
LLU is when ISPs install their own equipment in your phone exchange. It still uses your BT line, but they might run newer technology like ADSL2. It's still probably not going to help you much.

Leased Lines... are expensive.

After reading this forum I was getting ready for a complete nighmare with Sky BB. Having said that it has all gone well so far.
Sky emailed me my unique code to order BB. Ordered with them 2 weeks ago and recieved the Router/Software 3 days later along with letter saying activation date 19/09/06. Check @ 6am this morning with no BB light showing on the router. Wife just called me and said it is now showing green :). Just need to check when I get home now..
I will let you know what types of speed I am getting. Im about 900 yards from exchange.

Thanks. :)

Spent the last 15 mins on hold to be told i need to speak to the account holder (my mum who happens to be at work) so i need to ring back with her with me. ahhg

I got an email too so really looking for feedback.

Also, I am thinking of moving in a few months but will stay with sky and move it to my new house. Is that a problem? I will stay subscribed to sky and the only problem I can see is if it isnt an easynet area.

So far so good. Miles better than Eclipse has become. I have not had one single disconnection since Saturday when I went on. My connection is around 4mb and I am D/L at 350-380kbs. All for a fiver a month, I am well chuffed.
