Sky Fibre Optic

What firmware you running on the Asus?

Personally I'd ditch the SR102 and just have BTO Modem > Asus > PC

SR101/102 keep the original line stats until it's rebooted

currently running mirlin 374.43_2 which i believe is the latest?

if i use the BTO i seem to loose about 12mb...

I'm tempted to try the SR102 again - probably tomorrow at some point - and see if there are any changes in speed over the OR Modem.

Will report my findings here.

What package you on ? If only I could check the correct sync speed on my BTO.

Still no internet :(, they came round yesterday and diagnostics told them the break in the lime was 320 metres away. But he didn't have a van with a lift to get up the poll to find a new line. Said they would fix it first thing this morning, no need to come in the house.
Get home from work and still no internet :(

Faulty DSLAM card in my cab was the cause of the insane packet loss issue I've had for a week.

Shame it took an email to the Managing Director of Service Delivery, with the CEO copied in, to get it sorted but rest assured they scrambled an engineer out at 4pm, landed at 5pm, two engineers turned up and begin diagnosing, 6 hours later and a "borrowed" card from an non-live cab, and we're all back up and running lol

On the Fibre Pro package. I get my upload speed, just seem to be 30Mbps short of the download speed. Pings vary, but are anywhere from 20-60 depending on what and where I'm connecting to.

That's seems abit strange.. surely if your line was limited your upload should be too. I'd check with Sr102 or BTO just to see if there's nothing holding you back.

Swapped the OR modem out, put the Time Capsule back in as my wireless network and....

Viola! It's fixed.

How many engineers to fix a bloody line, one Tuesday one this morning, now go to be home tomorrow afternoon for yet another one.
And zero internet since Sunday.

That's not very good customer support is it, why would you need multiple returns to site, unless previous guys don't have the skill set :(

I'd be readying a letter stating the times the service was unavailable and asking for the cost of the service to be refunded. "Engineer" my ****.

e: Steady 8.2MB/s through Steam now. Service here at least is finally back to what it should be. :)

so do you think the BTO was limiting your connection?

Everything seems to be pointing to it. With it being locked down, i'm not sure whether it was only putting through a maximum of 50/50 speeds, but connecting at the current 74/20. I'd guess at it being something like that causing it.

They've already said I'll get a refund for lost service, internet, phone line and sky talk what ever it is. Just want internet back.
Can tether but it's not fast enough to stream :(

Sky talk's their name for phone packages. Free calls after too late to call and similar stuff.

But I know what you mean, if I had to go back to tethering to my phone on the windowsill - as I can pick up a huge two bars of 4G - after getting used to this, i'd be pulling my bloody hair out! Pings are measured in seconds.. Hopefully it's sorted soon for you! :)

Haven't found pings an issue on phone tbh, 50-100,s which is pretty much identical to sky fibre.
If I can get 4g inside then it's about the same, but most of the time it's 3g, which just isn't good enough for streaming.

Just annoying 4g inside reception is like 1 street away on the maps.

Three's 4G is about a mile and a half away from me. No faster than their HSDPA while on 2 bars.

The ping does seem a bit high going up to 100ms on fibre though.
