Sky Fibre Optic

I'll give them a ring later on in the week and see if anything can be done :)

Was thinking of using the online chat but don't think they can offer anything besides standard price.

Do Sky have any deals on Fibre Pro? I have TV with them at the moment (Family, Sport and Movies in HD) but not sure if they have any deals on the Pro package as I can't see any, has anyone got anything decent from them recently on the Fibre Pro package?

Also am I right in thinking the Fibre Pro is a 12 month contract? Bonus if so.

I got it for £20 a month for 12 months when I quoted Plusnet's offer

Limited coverage, fibre network areas only. Sky Fibre Unlimited standard set-up is £50. Wireless router self-set up required otherwise £30 extra. Sky Talk calls packages £0-5 a month. Sky Line Rental £15.40 a month. Compatible line required for Sky Talk otherwise connection charge from £39 may apply. 18 month minimum subscriptions apply. Speeds vary with location and line quality. External factors such as internet congestion can affect speed.

It should be said though, this only applies to the 'basic' Fibre package. Both DSL brtoadband and Fibre Broadband Pro (the 80/20 package) are still 12 month deals.

I think Plusnet were offering Fibre for 9 (or 12) months at £19.99 then rising to £25.99(?) when I joined so something similar to that maybe

Also good to see Fibre Pro is 12 months, prefer 12 months.

On my call through to retentions I was assured that the fibre contracts term was 12 months now in the email I've been sent the contract term is 18 months. I accepted a 12 month contract not the 18 month one. Should I contact sky about it?

For sure!

I was going to leave a few months back after my first year was up but they gave me fibre for half price and I get 40/10 all day long so £10 a month for that is good

Mine was only a 12 month deal, I'd ask to hear the recording where you agreed to 18 months, see what they say

I've had a series of disconnects over the weekend associated with noise during voice calls which seems to have been solved by swapping the microfilter. As a result of the repeated disconnects though the router is now syncing at 20Mbps instead of the usual 40Mbps.
Does anyone know if this will recover now the line is stable again, or will I have to make a call to Sky to ask for it to be reset?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks, I can manage at half speed for a while. Since posting, I found a thread on another forum saying that it took a few days before it starts to ramp back up.

Will do, usually takes between 3-10 days.

What about lines that have just gone live, mines like 30/9, do you think It will slowly increase?

If your line initially synced at 30/9, then it might already be at the absolute maximum. Give it 3-10 days and you might see a difference? :)
