No it doesn't make any sense at all. Openreach are a seperate division so they'll still get paid their chunk no matter what ISP requests them to do the work. Since they're getting paid regardless, why would they care which ISP the money is coming from?
BT were forced to be broken up and if they were to give BT Retail any form of priority they would be in trouble as it defeats the purpose of them being broken up in the first place.
Ok, I see your point.
But who owns BT Retail and who owns BT Openreach?
Are they owned by the same company?
Ok so I've had sky fibre optic for a few hours now. Online gaming seemed good, download speeds seem good so overall I'm quite pleased, but is it just me or is the wifi range on the sky router absolutely rubbish?
At the moment I'm in the next room to where the router is and I'm only getting 1 bar signal on my phone, when previously it was always a full 3 bars.
Whats the furthest you can pick a connection up?
They're both owned by BT plc., but they are separate companies. Think of Currys/PC World - they're all owned by Dixons plc.; if you bought something in Currys would you try to take it back to PC World? I think not.

That's manure.
I dont know how i'm going to manage with 4-5 walls between me and the routerProbably no signal at all
Just type 'sky router wifi range' into google when you have some time and have a read, it pretty much sums it up. I am gonna make my own DIY signal booster today to see if that helps, as long as I can get a decent signal all around the house I'll be happy. My brother (who works for Sky) is fuming, from his room he barely gets a signal at all, he was like 'no wonder so many people ring in to complain about that pile of **** router'.![]()
