Sky Fibre Optic

Yep (apart from how long it took). Line has remained stable still with zero outages since the work was done.

Now I just need Sky to call me on the follow up call to check I am happy with the fix as they promised me they would as I was waiting for that call to ask about credit for the outage.

Looks like I am going to have to call them to complain about them not calling me about my complaint!!

Looks like its been upgraded overnight and getting the below sync speeds:

Would you say this is looking good? The cabinet is about 3 doors away and when I was on the standard package I was syncing at the full 40000 and 9999 constantly. Is this the highest sync speed on this package?

Unless you are asking about Line Attentuation or Noise Margin which I know nothing of, then of course it's good. It's double what you had before, which is exactly what you paid for.

Thanks for your help.

This is true but maybe im being fussy and was thinking it may sync at 80000 as the previous package was up to 38Mbps and was synced at 40000.

I have just gone live with Sky Fibre, the Sky Q Modem is showing these stats.

Broadband Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 39998 kbps 9999 kbps
Line Attenuation 15.4 dB 0.0 dB
Noise Margin 17.9 dB 22.22 dB

How much more is there in the line so to speak in terms of speed?

The highest is 79999 so it's a bit odd you're not getting that considering how short your line is.

It might take a few days to sort out. My cabinet is somewhere down the road, I was only expected to get 65Mbits but after it went up and down for a week or so, it's been steady at 79998 for 25 days now.

Can anyone tell me which port is used for the remote management on the Sky Q hub? I'm trying to connect to mine from work but can't remember the URL. I've tried 8080 and it didn't connect, so if it's that then I've obviously not set it up properly!

Please tell me you're accessing it over a VPN. :p
