Sky Fibre Optic

I'm hard wired in and get the below via my Billion 7800n

When switching to Sky Fibre from Sky ADSL I had to take out their line rental. I was previously on BT. I now have had no outgoing calls for a week. I get a dial tone but no matter what number I phone it says it is unrecognized. Incoming works but is awful (really quiet and hissing and crackling). Who do I phone now I am not with BT anymore. Sky and get them to organize a BT engineer or phone BT directly and tell them it was their engineer who left it faulty?

How close are/were you guys to your BT estimated speeds?

My current (god-awful) ADSL speeds were pretty much "accurate" (0.5-3Mb - i get about 0.75!). So i'm wondering if my fibre estimated speeds (31/5.8Mb) will be accurate.

My ADSL estimate is 9.5-11mb and i get 10.2.
Openreach is saying March for fibre for my cabinet and are estimating 65mb down 20 up, but that's with BT, and to be honest i'm sticking with sky. Ironic i'm finding 10mb to sometimes be a little slow when I put up with 640k for 10 years at my last house!!

Well for me nothing at all because of the **** phone lines, but I have a feeling that it would have been pretty close if everything was fine. The cabinet is very close and the exchange is only up the road as well.

My line fault has been fixed but its running at half speed now, so hoping if i wait and leave modem connected it will increase to full speed again?

Pretty quick fix given it went down over the holidays so cant complain.

I believe that SKY were having problems with people not getting the full speed of their connection, for reasons unrelated to line quality. SKY had not explanation for this. Perhaps you are suffering from the same issue?

Been on the phone to Sky for 50 minutes now as my connection speed has dropped to 16.5mb, finally been put through to the fibre team. They've ran a line test, all ok but the line is on the wrong profile, lets see what occurs....

Edit: They're doing further tests on the line now. They're going to ring me back if an engineer needs to be booked.

Edit 2: Got en engineer coming out tomorrow afternoon, possible modem or line fault :)

I've currently got Sky Unlimited ADSL but am wanting Sky Fibre but really cba to pay £50 "activation".

Anybody know if Sky are able/willing to discount activation for fibre for existing ADSL customers?

There's always BT & Plusnet if they refuse. Give Sky a call and see what they say. :)
