*** Sky Q Thread ***

Oh, so if I've got 2 months left with my discount and upgrade to Sky Q, the remaining 10 months of the contract will be full price?

Yes, exactly that.

I discovered this before the install so when I rang to cancel, they offered me another 12 month 50% deal to keep the order - they cancelled the offer I was already on (which only had three months left) and applied the new one.

Ah. I'm on non Q however only pay £35 or something a month for the full package in HD. I was hoping that if I upgraded to Q then that offer would be extended.

Has anyone had any problems with the Sky Q hub on 5Ghz? Just seems to have died on me this morning, I have 2.4Ghz running separately to isolate some of the devices on my network and that is working fine.

Tried a reboot, guess it'll be a hard reset next.

Edit: Doesn't seem to be the Hub, it's my Macbook playing silly buggers.

The annoying pin thing affects regular sky too, not a new thing :(

Is regular Sky broken too though?

It shouldn't ask for a PIN after 8 or 9pm (can't remember which) yet I've worked my way through on-demand box sets and sometimes you get asked for the PIN at 11pm whereas other times you don't get asked in the middle of the afternoon. Hopelessly broken.

I currently have Sky+HD package at £44 a month, I don't have Sports or Movies but I do have the F1 channel on my package. I just called Sky about upgrading to Sky Q, they said it would be £30 install and £12 a month extra, this is too much for me, I find the £44 a month bad enough, taking it to £56 would be ludicrous. It's not like I watch a huge amount of TV either. I only have 1 Sky box too, they tried to add an extra room but I don't need more than 1 TV, my flat it tiny. I have a TV in the bedroom with a Roku TV which never gets used.

Had a couple of issues upgrading to Sky Go Extra. When I went to upgrade the only option I was getting was 2 months free then £5 per month so I had to give Sky a call and they activated it over the phone and said the £5 issue would be fixed before my bill is due.

Following on from this. I received my bill the other day to find that I was charged £5 for Sky Go extra. I just gave Sky a call and they're now saying Sky Go extra isn't included as part of Sky Q - they've agreed to refund the £5 for this month as I was given wrong info when I called previously however if I want to keep it then it will be £5 per month.

Any other Sky Q customers using Sky Go extra and if so are you being charged for it?

It's only free with multi room.

What Q setup do you have BaZ87?

It's only free with multi room.

I've got the Sky Q Silver bundle.

Anyway, I done some digging and was convinced I should be getting it free so I called a 2nd time. Spoke to the first cs guy and he said yea, it's included in my package but he needed transfer me to the Q team to resolve it. The customer service guy for the Q team was adament it's not free though! He said it's only free for Sky+ customers and all he'd do was put £10 credit on my account to effectively give me 2 months free Sky Go Extra.

I still wasn't convinced. I spoke to 4 different people over the past 10 days and 2 had told me it should be free and 2 had said it's not. Like n111ck says I found a page on Sky's site that says it's free with multiroom and I've got the Silver bundle which includes a mini box so I thought I'd phone again to find out exactly what Sky count as being multi room. The person I spoke to this time said 100% that I should be getting it free. She said that anybody with the Sky Q Silver bundle gets Sky Go Extra at no charge and apologised for my previous 2 calls, putting it down to a lack of staff training. She said she's raised the issue and it should be resolved in the next 7 days and will call me back to confirm when it's done. Fingers crossed.

I can check if you like, but I was advised that Sky Go Extra should be included with your package.

What shows on my Sky+ HD account is a charge for Sky Go EXtra, followed by a credit.

If you can that would be great. Prior to my calls today I was being charged £44.50. £12 for Sky Q Silver (thanks to the F&F code), £27.50 for Sports and £5 for Go Extra

As I've mentioned above, I've now had £15 total credited to my account so although my bill amount is still showing as £44.50 the payment due is only £29.50. There's no actual mention of any credit on my bill though.

The 3rd member of the Q team I spoke with today, who was certain it should be free, did say it would take up to a week to resolve the issue and (touch wood) I won't be getting charged for it in future months.
I was under the impression that Sky Go extra was included as part of Sky Q multi room.

Me too and it certainly appears to be the case. Unfortunately not all Sky's staff know this :/

I've got the Sky Q 2TB (was the silver) and a mini and when I go to the Sky Q Extra site on Sky, it claims it's £5 per month for me.

It's a mess. If you've got a mini box then surely you've got sky multiscreen and therefore extra should be free?

I had the same issue when I tried to activate Go Extra 10 days ago. I phoned them and they said they'd sort the £5 out before my bill which as above they didn't although hopefully they will now.

Does it say anywhere on their website it's free if you have multi-room? I knew it was free before but with multi-room but maybe that's an old deal. I didn't have multi-room before getting the upgrade to Sky Q the other day so maybe it's different for me?
