*** Sky Q Thread ***

yep the hickups are shocking. Came back with the last update for me.

One trick to get round it. Pause the feed for a second and play, always seems to get rid for me.

Black screen of death continued:

The use of the mini box as a substitute for the Silver box ended in failure on Saturday morning when the black screen returned.

Has one last attempt at trying to fix the issue by removing all other inputs from the TV (Blu-ray, Amazon, Soundbar). Still no change! Having tried each HDMI input apart from the one supporting ARC decided to try that one and no more black screen.

Been fine for two days now. Given that I've probably spent around ten hours trying to get this resolved I'll leave cancelling the engineer callout for a few more days just to make sure it remains fine.

Does anyone one know whether the software reset option one on the hidden menu clears down any satellite dish settings?

KD-55XD9305 4K Flickering Update: Decided to use the v3.509 firmware last week. All good until Saturday when watching a recording of the latest Major Crimes (Sky) the juddering came back. It was certainly more violent then it had been before and took two restarts to clear.

This, top end, expensive TV is not fit for purpose. We'll wait until the end of this month for a further firmware update and if that is not forthcoming be talking to JL/Sony.

Just been posted on the Sony forum that another update should be available mid November. I too have a Sony uhd and sky q and have had the judder but turning the q box off and on clears it in my case.

Since the last update the judders more frequent on my Sony , I find changing the inputs on the Reciever fix it (i.e. Changing to blu ray then back to Sky)

This time it will also be an OTA with the option of using USB.

Sky Q installed and first impressions are that it's a massive step forward.

But that swipe remote.... Horrendous!

Does anyone know if I can get the Sky Q app to use my memory card instead of tablet internal memory?

Fixed my sony judder issue totally now for over a week by settling on a specific hdmi cable with 27gbps of bandwidth. Tried a few but this one is somehow solving the handshake issues.

Yes, but one is for the mini box and the touch remote doesn't work with the mini box as it's Bluetooth.

I have a 2TB box and a mini. I was given 3 remotes in total, one touch and two normal. I use both normal ones for the 2TB and the mini.

What boxes they came out of I don't know, the installer unpacked it all.
