Smartwatch Thread (news/apps/updates)

I'll not touch another Mobvoi product, their pathetic support for wearOS 2 and lack of wearOS 3 is disgraceful.
Yeah but I mainly care about the Google updates through Play Store, which have been regular and plentiful, and that's why Mobvoi products cost half that of Samsung.

If it works OK I don't personally want to pay for a huge software dev team, but understand those that do.

Thanks to Google/Mobvoi my Ticwatch Pro 3 LTE no longer works like it did when I bought it. Functions have been broken for nearly two years and they don't give a flying **** about it :(

Rumour

The Galaxy Watch 6 series is due to be launched later this year and if a new report is to be believed, Samsung is bringing back the much-loved physical rotating bezel, but only for the Galaxy Watch 6 Pro.

Question folks. I think the battery in my Ticwatch Pro 3 is dying, its turned off half way through the day a few times now, have done a factory reset and its still the same.

If I were to replace it, is the Samsung watch5 a good buy? Its currently £290 on Amazon. Or the Ticwatch Pro 3 Ultra is £190.

Here's the battery history from today, as you can see it was far from flat. Thoughts?

Well to follow up the above, I took a punt on the Ticwatch Pro Ultra 3. It's noticeably faster than my old Ticwatch Pro 3 and doesn't lag at all.

Good choice imo. £300 on a smart watch is bonkers in my view and my Ticwatch Pro has always been brilliant.

Looking forward to seeing this year's new smart watches though.

I just hope they make them look grown up rather than like children's toys.

If Samsung do bring new watches out this year , let's hope they have been listening to there customers. Bring back the rotating bezel :D

As it happens a friend has got the new Watch 5, albeit the smaller 41mm version. I had a play with it and safe to say, I definitely made the right choice, I just couldn't get on with the Samsung and it felt cheaper than the TW3P3U too.

Those with a Garmin and weight train. Is there a way to log strength training in terms of HR and duration, not interested in logging exercises, reps etc.

Basically how Apple Watch does functional training workout.

Not sure whether to post this here or the sports forum, may end up doing both.

I currently have a Galaxy Watch 4 and I've recently joined a gym. So far I've just been using Samsung Health (SH) and the NFC connection to hook up to the LifeFitness machines they have. This has been fine for general tracking but things like the auto cool down stage at the end of a run get included into the workout so it's hard to check distance after x mins or time taken for y distance etc. with what SH spits out after.

My question is, could I be doing better? I know the answer is probably to move over to Strava (or possibly Google fit, is that actually any good now?) but I quite like having everything stored in SH as that's where all my previous data is stored. I'm also not bothered about sharing to Strava, this is just for me to feel good about myself when I get home :p

I guess does anyone have experience with the LifeFitness machines and getting the most data out of them coupled with a smartwatch and the various apps needed to do that? Cheers.
