Smartwatch Thread (news/apps/updates)

The casing isn't plastic, It's anodised stainless steel?

I've got ambient mode turned off, seemed to make a noticeable impact in battery life (although still just about made a day) and as you mention it's quite dark, I even changed the Rotate face's background to white which helped but still was dark enough I felt it wasn't really worth having it on.

I like that it's black, although yeah it hides the fact that it's metal.

I've ordered a cheapo 'pebble steel' band, also in black, but not sure if I want to fit it now after reading about the cracking...

On battery life I decided not to bother charging it last night and so after taking it off the charger at 8:34 last night, using it for a fairly normal day (maybe a bit light on texts/hangouts messages) and sleeping for 7 hours before getting up at ~6:30 today it's now on 49%. So for me at least it looks to have plenty for 1 day and probably enough to last till the end of today as well, but I am quite a light user.

The code that shows for a watch when your pairing, is that unique to the watch?

I sold my Gear Live, the buyer is saying the contacts are broken on the back and sending it back for a refund. I want to be able to know for sure it's the same watch I originally sent...

No idea. Take a look at the 360. I get the feeling it will be generated from a serial to be unique.
Personally I take a video and pictures including serial numbers when selling phones etc so I have proof of it working.

I think I have the serial number from my Google order. When I say the code, I don't mean the one when I actual try and pair, I mean what it's identified by in my list of Bluetooth devices, such as 'FMB1'. I'm fairly sure I've reset the watch several times and it stays the same. I just wondered if all Gear Live are 'FMB1' (or whatever)

The serial number would be a better way, which someone else pointed out...

John Lewis online has stock on the black one this morning. Ive just got my order in :)

EDIT: Well at least they did - the last one just went.

Anyone that has used the facer app, how versatile is it? Could you make tokyo flash style faces for example? I love their style of watches and having a few that I could switch between would certainly ring my bell. I don't mean direct copies but the general style. :)

Recieved the update on my LG G Watch yesterday, there is now a Play Music command which you can set up to media players...Spotify is not included in this option sadly!

You can connect Bluetooth speakers and headsets to the watch now too but there doesn't appear to be a way to transfer music to store on the watch as of yet!

By far the best thing about the update for me however is the inclusion of native volume controls...finally! So when playing a track there is a new screen which includes the skip forward/back and volume up/down split into the 4 sections of the screen. Happy with that :)

Typical. I ordered one last weekend from Korea, as there was no info anywhere on a UK release date... then they're released before it's got here!

Hopefully it comes tomorrow and hopefully I don't get burnt too bad on import tax.
