Smartwatch Thread (news/apps/updates)

Do any of the high street chains have these in as something you can actually try on? Been thinking of maybe getting one as a present for myself this christmas, but given I have skinny arms, I am worried that they might look stupid on me. Maybe the smaller version of the moto 360 v2 might work for me.

Don't worry, the Moto 360 has a girls version :p

Personally, just due to Motorola's support network I wouldn't bother with any Motorola device.

I send back a Moto360 for a cracked back and it comes back to me more damaged than when it left and with a claim that it has been attempted to be repaired by an unauthorised person, and so, no warranty.

In reality SBE Global Service, Motorola's service centre damaged my watch when opening it and didn't want to cover the replacement themselves. So it's my fault then...

After 4 months of arguing... Motorola have offered me £50 off a new device from MotoMaker. They can shove that! I'm not spending another £200 to replace a £200 device that is still less than a year old.

The Tag looks really nice, I have that watch face on my 360 as well the only difference is it's blue background.

I wont be upgrading as i find the 360 really good for what i need.

If your budget is £100 then its still a nice watch. I'm still using mine, as long as you turn off ambient mode then the battery life isnt all that bad actually. Mines been off charge since 7AM (15.5hrs) and currently sitting at 66% left.

Actually I've noticed that the battery life has been better the past few weeks, maybe related to Marshmellow and Doze mode. Still always got me through a full day, it was just cutting it fine when I had Ambient mode on (Not even technically a true mode as the screen still spent most of the time off)

It isnt the quickest but everything runs fine.

My Moto 360 easily lasts 2 days without a charge. I guess it depends on use.

The Google Store in London had the Moto 360 and LG G Watch R to try out last time I checked a couple of months ago.

Speaking of Pujie Black... how the heck does the developer keep coming up with new features for this watchface? Really loving the new tap drawer and weather view.

Indeed, I don't use the tap drawer but the weather view is really smart, I've matched it with the colours of the watch face and it looks very nice. I have it set as tap centre for calendar and tapping the weather indicator gives me the 12 hour weather view. :)

o2 shops have the moto 360 in stores near me anyway. They are the mens small, so 42mm black. I have the 42 and i love it, i just think large faces watches look rubbiosh but each to their own.

So other half is gonna get me a smart watch for Christmas, I do like the look of the Sony SmartWatch 3 but just wondering if anyone has one and thoughts

Or if there is better out there that i might of missed so far.

I got myself one in the sale a while back to pair up with my Sony Z3, I love it. Get a couple of days battery out of using at work then switching off at night, I get ticket notifications from spiceworks, which is really handy.
It's also made me obsessed with Google Fit telling me my steps for the day. I know it's not going to be accurate but still interesting getting a rough estimate.
The USB charge port is a little fiddly and I'm convinced I'll break the rubber cover for it eventually (I try to be careful with it) charge time is really quick it'll go from <10% to 95% in just under an hour.
I wasn't to sure about them until I caught it in a sale, you get little whatsapp alerts, exchange emails, gmail etc and can do simple replies or simply speak your replies.
The rubber finish of the strap is rough none slip and the clasp is simple to secure.
I've not noticed any wear and tear on it and I've put a screen protector over it as I know sooner or later I'd end up brushing it against something scratching the display.
Overall I'm really happy with it and recommend it straight away.

Does the urbane have a light sensor, or has only to moto 360 got that (hence the tyre)?

No. Neither of the LG round watches have it. I don't think the Urbane 2 does either. I don't find it an issue though and don't really miss it from my 360.
It is winter though so not mega bright outside. My opinion may change in the summer.

Moto 360 strap broke with bits of plastic coming away. Either repair or glue!

I think I am 2 weeks over 1 year warranty

My strap went on my Moto 360, I sent it away to Motorola for repair and they replaced it no issues. I also mentioned I had a small crack on the back so they replaced the whole unit too.

I sent it on a Thurs and got it back the following Weds. Not too bad of a turn around.

So which high Street ships are stocking woweees? Yeah its not spelt that way but its pronounced that way

I want to try one on before I get the Mrs to buy it for my birthday.
