Smartwatch Thread (news/apps/updates)

My Huawei W1 seems to have given up on me, well the touch screen anyway. I'd love to just reboot it, but no way I can see to do that if the screen doesn't work. I guess I'll wait for the battery to run out, charge it up and see if it's fixed.

No, that brings up Google Assistant. I've sent an email to Huawei support to see what they say. I checked, I bought it on 22/11/16, so outside of the year I would expect them to cover :(

Decided to buy a Huawei Band 2 Pro rather than another smartwatch because i was fed up charging them everyday.
With this fitness tracker i get around 2 weeks on one charge.
Tell's the time and it receives notification's.
GPS which is very accurate.
Water Resistant.
Heart rate & Sleep Monitor.
Cost £51 while on sale at Amazon reduced from £79.

I've realised once the novelty of all the functions of a smartwatch wear off, i just used them to tell the time and receiving notification's
I can get that with a fitness band at a much cheaper price with the added bonus of not having to charge the thing everyday.

Looks good, how accurate is it, I find the Fitbit spot on untill you get HR above 150 then it starts going wrong. Also what's the app like? Nice long charge and waterproof would be nice.

Still want a smart watch, but same issue as normal, only one which properly interests me is Garmin 5x and that's to expensive, I want that hiking map feature.

First review I read said the HR was off quite a bit, sometimes a lot. Probably worth looking elsewhere if heart rate is important.

Press and hold the button for a lot longer ?

You're right, thanks. I thought I had tbh, but I guess I didn't count to 10...

Good news too. As suspected, a reboot seems to have fixed it.

(Wrote this post yesterday morning, just realised it didn't actually post!)

I did the same (and got the huawei band 2 pro) to replace my Samsung gear 2. The heart rate seems fairly accurate for resting/seating etc, not sure on exercise.

I wish a reboot had fixed my LG Watch R :( . ( it wasn't as shower proof as I'd hoped )

The app really good, and the GPS i can't fault even while indoors in a shopping centre it kept tracking.

Help choosing smart watch. I would like one with app store on so you can use apps on it and also be able to choose clock faces etc. I want it to have wifi and be running 2nd generation google like the moto 360. Budget about £100 but happy to buy 2bd hand. Just want a smartwatch that does everything even play some games.

I ended up returning my Samsung Gear s3 and buying the new Fitbit Ionic which I really like, maybe I should have opted for that first as I was after a fitness watch to start with

Great you got something that works for you.

Now then Misfit Vapour VS Gear S3

The gear S3 wins in the Looks dept.\battery life(lasts 3 times longer)\charger\short cuts for apps.
The Misfit wins in the better screen(more colourful and clearer) and android 2. That's it really. The vapour is not worth £130 I paid for it, @£99 it would be great.

I kept the Vapour because I could load the apps I needed on to my watch. Where as with Tizen I could not do that.
I won't be buying another smart watch until some company puts these in to one
Stand alone GPS with stand alone maps. 1.4+ screen\2 or more reprogrammable buttons\NFC\Mic and Speaker.
