SNES Mini Classic

If you are paying by PayPal then that usually happens.

If its depending on your account via card then that's not a charge, that's a credit check to see if you have funds available. It does state that for pre orders. I get the same from Amazon which is usually £1 but it's never taken out.

I forgot that I had an account with Toy R Us, got a few orders from them which were pre orders and I know for a fact I wasn't charged until dispatch.
Full amount showing as a pending payment on my card.

Doesn't mean anything, these were infinitely more popular than the NES.

true, but when they've sold out this quickly nintendo haven't exactly optimised for the amount of demand... they'd still have plenty of publicity if they'd perhaps allocated quadruple the stock they chose to go for this time and had retailers selling out by the end of the day

I wonder if they'll allocate further stock before the official release?

I think we all just need to acknowledge the reality that Nintendo hate their customers :) they know fine the demand is there and they're purposely choosing not to meet it in order to generate publicity!

Really don't understand it either, it's a best seller, they will make money, I mean why can't they make a longer production run than just like 6 months?

Make it at least until they release the N64 mini for next Christmas at least. Give it a 12 months cycle should give people enough chance to get one. Production only until December will mean every time stock lands in a store it will be gone inside a minute.

Allegedly you could hack the NES mini and install the entire game library, I wonder if this will be possible with the SNES (also it would be ace if I could use my old controller too!)

If there was no shortage, no one would buy it. A lot of us will already have emulation, so wouldn't be inclined to buy straight away, which could turn to not buying at all. The limited run is why people jump to buy instantly. Nintendo guarantee sales through scare tactics this way. Whereas unlimited runs wouldn't guarantee as many sales.

The demand is there because people believe its their only chance. In our office at work at least 4 of us bought them today. If they weren't in such high demand we certainly wouldn't have all rushed to buy them.

If they weren't doing a limited run then I wouldn't have got nearly as excited. It makes perfect business sense.

Exactly my point. Myself and 3 others at work wouldn't have pre ordered straight away if we knew we could order whenever. I can guarantee two wouldn't have bought at all. They want theirs to collect as they are hard to find.

The NES was a day one pre-order for me, had no idea things would go so nuts or would end up being a limited run so am very pleased I did.

SNES is also an essential purchase for me.

I think we'll probably see both come back again in future, is a license to print money, like what Disney used to do with their films and only releasing them for a limited time.

I've not opened my Nes mini as there are only a handful of games I know Ill give attention to. However the Snes mini has some of the most important games of my childhood so it's gonna be in use for sure.

Yoshis Island was the first game I ever "100%" completed and wanted every red coin and flower in.

Not sure if it was my circle of friends but no one I knew had a NES. It was all spectrums and c64s with the first consoles I saw being master systems then megadrive and SNES. One random guy I was at school withs sister had a NES and that was it.

I think people get that but the point is that you can still have a limited run with far more consoles than they seem to have allocated, there just seems to be so much excess demand for it that they could have had similar publicity and had it sold out but with many more available

Argos are cancelling a number of pre-orders it seems, no emails gone out but log in to your account and you see the amount but no product info.

Could be they've pulled the product page and it also hides it here but doesn't look good.

One thing I did notice about Argos is that they weren't limiting orders to one per customer. I wonder if they're cancelling orders for those who ordered multiple units? My order still looks ok so fingers crossed?

My order and number is still there but when you click to view it you just get 'order not found', I hope this is because they've pulled the page and not because they've cancelled orders. I guess we wait and see.

According to folks on Nintendo Life comments some are still seeing the full order details so it looks like mine has been cancelled.

I only ordered one, didn't even think of trying to get multiples.
