SNES Mini Classic

Hey if anyone is trying to get one of these for retail price, use the website I bagged mine with a couple of weeks ago:

https://www.stockinformer.co.uk/checker-super-nintendo-entertainment-system-snes

You can have alerts sent to your phone via Chrome when it comes into stock and be able to get on and buy one before it sells out. Got mine from Game in the end using this.

Great piece of kit. Just wish it had Donkey Kong Country 2 & 3 (1 is great, but for me 3 is the best, and one of the greatest platform games ever made).

These are in stock in quite a few Smyths stores, guess nintendo weren't lying about the demand being met.

Thought I would introduce the nephew into retro gaming. Took a few minutes for the eyes to dial in!

Surprisingly, it did not take long for the memories to come flooding back - I could recall the old cheats on Mario Kart after 25 years - amazing how the memory recalls after all this time!

We tried Contra - What the...?

Did people really pay for this game back in 93? It is simply an arcade game where you pump in coins. Insane difficulty.

It's not difficult, it's just these days people expect games to play themselves. :/
Tried super ghouls and ghosts yet? :D

I chickened out. :D

Seriously though, we did not try as I believe it is single play only? We only played the local co-op games. I have not dabbled in the single player games as yet. My nephew is of the age who beats me at a few games now, so I may just recommend this one at Chrimbo :p

Brilliant little console, I was never a fan of Donkey Kong's graphic's back in the day (the quasi 3d effect for the player models) but I have got to say, as a game - it is a great fun and as a two player game, where you can swap players and share the levels - inspired.

TBF it's probably easier in single player mode as 1 bad player can make it harder by moving too fast for their ability :)

I'm still looking to get one, as I want to replay Zelda without unsealing my sealed copy. :D

These things are getting seriously easy to find now. Was in my local Sainsburys today and they had 4 of them on the shelf, admittedly at £79.99 instead of £69.99, but they're out there. Wasn't even a particularly large sainsburys.
