So, anyone got an iRobot Roomba or other robot vacuum cleaner?

Have to admit I would love a self emptying.
I have to empty the bin every time due to dog hair!

Now I have a cleaner come every fortnight I haven't picked up the cordless vacuum since she's been coming and the Eufy does the rest.

The future is now!

Looking at getting something in this space. What’s the best <= £500? Would like vacuum plus mop but how good is the mop feature generally?

Roborock S7 Pro Ultra, delighted with it. Have mixture of laminate and carpet. Its mop works really well with BiOHY. Bought mine using Shippn via Holland as the retailer I pre-ordered from wouldn't ship directly to UK.

Well guys, my next-level of cleaning robot has arrived: The Roborock Q Revo which I got from Amazon for 780 EUR (£666).

Holy moly, finally some proper mopping, it's a complete game-changer for me! I have all hardwood floors and generally HATE mopping and while I did occasionally do it with a steam mop, it was never as often as I should have mopped and it did cause me some level of annoyance knowing my floors were sometimes a bit grubbier than they should have been. The Q Revo has basically removed that stress from my life.

I am still experimenting with settings but currently I have the vacuum set to go and return to clean the mop after every room for maximum hygiene. And man, it really does clean the mop! Yesterday after the robot had finished its clean and dried the mop I removed the robot and smelled the mops and they smelled fresh as a daisy, completely dry and odourless.

In terms of vacuuming it seems quieter than my old S6 at the same settings and has better obstacle avoidance, cleaning while managing not to hump my chair legs or get stuck trying to go over anything it shouldn't.

The level of automation seems improved with per-room behaviour able to be set, the app seems very flexible other than not being able to say whether the mop only goes back to be cleaned after specific rooms, which is maybe something they can add in future and I will suggest it to Roborock.

This is truly the next level of automation and I am over the ******* moon with it. I will keep fiddling with settings and update this thread as and when I have further thoughts of discover anything new :)

Here's a review from a major Youtube channel to whet your appetite:

I also want to try the BIOGY or Roborock solution stuff! Is it mainly to avoid mould in the tank or does it actually make floors cleaner and smell nice too?

The eufy X9 Pro got a great review, but how can they exclude auto empty for the dustbin? Seems like they screwed themselves to keep the cost down.

*SNIP*

Thank you. This post has finally peaked my interest in a robot. Can you post updates in a month after the initial "this is amazing" period has faded. I'm ready to buy.....

Man that looks good, i didn't think it bothered me about mopping, but i've got the Eufy X9 which just has the pad that you wet, and it stinks. I'm just going to buy a few replacement pads and wash after each use, but it certainly takes the convinience out.
Kind of wish i'd just spent the extra on a proper mopping one.

I am an experienced robot vac user so it's not going to change much if the intial runs for vacuuming and mopping are this good. It's an automated robot so it should then do all of this consistently, barring any specific technical problems.

If you are ready to buy then just go for it as the robot has already been reviewed to death on Youtube and Amazon since a couple of months. :)

Yeah, sadly that is not comparable to a real mopping robot with base station. If it really matters to you then sell that robot for as much as you can and get the cheapest Q Revo you can find.

How does it decide where to mop? Virtually all of our downstairs is hard floor except a rug. And what if you decide you don't want a particular room mopped as part of the cleaning cycle?
