So err, What’s Happened to the Princess of Wales?

I wonder how the people on reddit, twitter and those working for thesun and sky news are feeling right now?

Probably the same as yesterday. Jeez there are a lot of idiots around these days.
Well it's more 'content' for them, so probably quite good.

As far as news orgs go the royals aren't really considered human beings in the first place so there's zero impetus to be respectful.

They do, it’s called the NHS.
So the nhs provides the same level and quality to the average Joe as someone more affluent will get privately?

But if you can afford it you have access to a different level of care. Or if your job has private medical cover for example.

Just like if you have more money you can buy a nicer house, or a more expensive car.
And this is what myself and other have issue with. Wealth shouldn’t dictate the quality of medical care someone receives. This is what some are complying about, not that Kate shouldn’t get the very best treatment.

And no it’s not nonsense, accusing some of white knighting. You and others are jumping in on those that have the opinion that everyone should get the same quality of care and twisting what people are saying. Why twist it? Why accuse people of being bitter or being irrational.

Every single person in the UK should be getting the same quality of medical care but you’re seemingly ok with higher quality care going to the rich and privileged and you appear happy to defend that.

Comparing buying a car to someone’s health - now you’re definitely in the irrational phase.

After Kate asked for privacy all the news channels have wall to wall coverage, including TalkTV that is also attacking conspiracy theorists.

There wouldn't be a conspiracy without the media hassling her.

People seem to forget that this is how life works in this society. All this is, is a person who has cancer and receiving treatment. She may get slightly better treatment than others but it's the care that she will receive that is different. Cancer doesn't care if your wealthy or poor.

It’s got absolutely nothing to do with ‘white knighting’ the royals (nonsense). In this respect Kate is no different than anyone else who is receiving private medical treatment.

It isn't even that expensive. My partner on a mid level salary has access to free private medical care and even with us added to it (2 Child + 1 adult). It is only £1000 a year. Some Sky TV subscriptions cost more than that.

Some people much rather have a new mobile phone every 24 months and that is their choice.

Why? It’s a service.

Everyone does get the same level of care, but just like with every other aspect of society, if you can afford it you can access other services, healthcare being one of them.

Theres people in this thread who have access to private healthcare because they have the means to or because it comes as a perk with their job etc. I haven’t heard anyone tell them they should get a ticket and get in line.

Reality is if a lot of people using private healthcare didn’t have access to it, the NHS would be in even more of a dire position.

people know full well that's how this society works.....what they're saying is that it shouldn't. but that seemingly means we wish the worst for kate
Even the societies that are supposed to be all for equality of the people have the same division of haves and have not's.

seeing as there's a news blackout...i'll chime in with my conspiracy theory...

i think that Kate's had a cancer of some sort...probably gynaecological in origin (possibly cervical?) needing a hysterectomy and radiotherapy...would explain the prolonged absence in an otherwise presumably fit and healthy 40-ish year old

Sadly it looks like you called it correctly after all, so much for the aides telling the press it is not cancer.

Imagine if the RF had just been honest and upfront about it, those people wouldn't have needed to make things up for the secrets and lies

Yes there's the arguments it's none of their business, but it's the RF, the public eye cast on them like the Eye of Sauron is part of the "job"

The amount of people making this thread about themselves is staggering.

There's a man who's father and wife are being treated for cancer for crying out loud.
Exactly, they are no different to the hundreds of thousands of people diagnosed in a year. Just because they are the RF or wealthy has no bearing on what they will be going through.

Look at any society in the world and you have the same distributions of wealth and influence. Humans have not and will never have a society where every aspect of life is equal for everyone. We strive therefore some are winners, some are not.

The royal family are an institution peculiar to this country but are not unique in any other country.

Actually outside of the US the UK has the worst divide in wealth in the developed world but yeah I get your point. The whole of UK's wealth is all down to exploitation during the empire years and the west all benefit off the extremely poor in sweat shops all over the developing world.

It is just we all look up instead of down with these kind of things.

it's really not worth even trying to have a conversation if you think these 2 things are the same. makes sense you're happy to twist peoples words.

I don’t see how it’s different to anything else. No different to being able to buy food or not, or having nowhere to live. Ultimately you are paying for a service with private medical care and that’s what it is.

I don’t live in fantasy world where everyone gets perfect treatment through the NHS, and just because some people have access to private medical care this is somehow detrimental to everyone else or hinders the NHS from giving better care.

Everyone is covered by the NHS. Could the service be improved? Probably in many areas, but I don’t see why someone who has access to private medical cover should have to join the NHS line because ‘reasons’. It would in effect be detrimental to the people waiting on the NHS who desperately need care and can’t afford to have it privately.
