So will the 6 core AMD will outperform i7?

I can't complain my i7 combo cost me 300 all in :D

None of us give a flying monkey what you paid ... we do care about what it costs now, and a minimum i7 setup is £220 for CPU (920) and £215 for a decent board (P6TD or something).
That's £435 plus RAM, even with a crappier board you are still looking at around £400.

Compared to AMD with a board that is £100 (or less) and an X6 that I expect to be around £200 tops, that saves you at least £100. With current X4 chips it saves you almost £200, and if you chance and unlock, possibly as much as £250+.

I can think of PLENTY of things I'd rather spend £200 on.
Now go back to trolling elsewhere, because frankly as I said none of us give a flying monkey about most of your posts now.

You had a rig to sell,

Mine was from nothing.;)

No, I just dislike ostensibly thick and annoying people

Then look in the mirror.

Fact is I have outed the hypocrites spouting i7 is more power than you need.

Now 6 core AMD comes and its fine to buy one.

Sad to be shackled to a comapny that couldn't care less.

I love real people,my friends,my family not a tech company.

Pathetic TBH

:D

Shackled? I'm currently running a C2D and have not been happier in ages - but I can also recognise that i7 is more than most people need, especially given the price. The difference as pointed out is that the X6 setup should still be cheaper than i7, so while possibly being OTT it is not costing an arm and a leg.
If i7 had £100 boards and £100 CPUs, they'd be flying off the shelves as it allows for not being butt-raped while getting some decent power, and any "saving" due to getting a slower version closer to your needs is minor and thus less important.

Nope, this thread very much reads as trolling. You're making things up Easy, no one here is arguing that people should run out and buy the amd hex core. Primarily because we're not thick, anyone who needs a six core chip knows they need one.

You have to be a really hardcore multiple core user to choose six slower cores over four faster ones. It's rare to spend all of your time using really well multi-threaded software.

The normal justification for multiple cores on here is video encoding, by how big a margin does a 4ghz i7 920 beat a 4ghz 965 in this?

You don't even know the pricing yet...

You don't even have any benchies to go on.

And yet you are making all these claims.

You use words like should, and would, and possibly.

Thrashes it.

Fact is most have been spouting about not buying into power they don't need.

And yet most of the AMD crowd will jump on 6 core like flies around **** :p

No, don't tell me "thrashes it". Give me data or remain silent.

I don't think anyone on here will buy one. Servers will love it. Workstations want the intel hex core. Gamers are thick if they buy either six core system.

Each core of the X6 is unlikely to be slower than the X4, given the X4 prices right now it is sensible to assume a sub £200 price - and given some of the internet leaks suggesting something similar ...

Now go run along and get the Intel 8 (or was it 12) core chip, and some Fermi cards :)
