Missed all these posts until today - sure they weren't here yesterday?

DHR, if you are looking for a versicolor there is an entemological show on March 28th :) Failing that the BTS is in May and there are bound to be plenty for sale!

Can you give me a link to more details about this? I only had a few minutes to look around but i can't seem to find it. Cheers!

Hi,

I've searched the web, and there are no pages with a date. This just says that the dates are to be confirmed.

However, I was picking up some tanks on Friday, and they guy who makes them told me about the fair. He's an exhibitor and gave me a copy of the letter confirming his stalls for the show.

It's called the Midlands Entomological Fair and is at Kettering Leisure Village on Sunday 28th March. I was told that it's about 2/3 the size of the BTS, and is in its 10th year now. It's a pretty big show, but a lot of stalls are dedicated to other types of invert; i.e. butterflies, mantids etc. Well worth a visit though apparently :)

I'll certainly be going. Will post more details when I get them

You will NOT regret buying this spider! P. regalis is one of the most beautiful pokes. They are so under-rated because they're the most common species, but they're stunning. I have 2 slings as well as my adult, and one of them is growing like a weed. The other is about 3 times smaller.

The larger sling moulted this weekend and is now approx 3" in legspan!! Just had it out for a brief photoshoot - what a gorgeous T :)

Jesus Christ that thing's grown a bit!

Oh....it's a male as well, I'm about 70% sure ;)

DHR, no bites yet, don't intend to get bitten either - touch wood :)

I hope to get some more Poecilotheria from the BTS show in May, been after a regalis for a while so I couldnt resist the one I saw on Saturday...

On anther note my P.ornata was about to moult when I left for work this morning - fingers crossed it will be ok. They do seem to be a fast growing SP as this is my ornata's second moult this year!

Well if all goes to plan I'll get some freshly moulted P.ornata snaps up later...

[edit]

No I've never been bitten and dont plan on getting bitten in the near future!

I thought it might be, but Tamil's stripe is a similar width, hence my reasoning for thinking it might be female. I'd be extremely happy with a male because it means I can get maybe a couple of eggsacs out of him with both mine and your females :)

what are their temprements like typically? I don't got by care sheets much anymore because they misslead me about my B.Smithi's (they're both nuts!!!)

I have a small B.smithi about 1.5 - 2 inches and its fine, normally runs for cover if i remove the lid. I have seen it attempt to kick hairs which I thought looked rather funny at the time for such a small one...
