I don't understand the concerns about possible blackouts. Solar panels don't work at night and this eclipse is only going to last 2 hours. Am I being thick ?

Go somewhere where there are lots of birds,
it is as freaky as anything when EVERYTHING goes silent.

I used binos last time, seemed OK when in full eclipse.
