Solar panels and battery - any real world reccomendations?

For the sake of comparison, our system installed in June (and July 'cos of waiting for some bits):
  • 11 x Trina Vertex S 400W panels
  • Huawei 3.6kW hybrid inverter
  • Huawei Luna BMS
  • 2 x Huawei Luna 5kW batteries
Total (inc. installation and scaffolding) - £12,500

920kWh generated since end of July and very happy with it. :)

Yeah those two quotes aren't far off what the best have been for 3 or more months give or take a little.
If you cannot secure a sensible lower price elsewhere they arent so bad that they fall into the daft type area
I'm thinking about accepting tbh.

This is the installer if anybody has any experience with them, first glance at reviews look good for installations but bad for customer service.

Guess you are on the Hampshire scheme because I just got mine as well.

The product specification page has more details.

Suntech 390w Mono all black panel
Growatt inverter no mention of size.
Growatt battery 9.6kw

Price doesn't seem that outrageous compared to my last quote :p

Yes, in Hampshire too but a different installer - mine is Home Smart Energy

Spec sheet is here, but they use - https://ichoosr-cms.azureedge.net/content/2022/10/13/20f71404db3141f597d051e75ce1ecd2/HomeSmart_solar&storage_final.pdf

JASolar 405W panels
PylonTech US3000 batteries
SoFar KTL-G2 inverters
Sofar ME3000SP battery inverter

As a rough guide, that hardware would cost:
So a rough material cost of £6000 and a quote of £14,000 to include labour and scaffolding?

This installer definitely picked the bargain-basement solar gear to be honest.

[Edit] No mention of DNO either, or what size inverter they would fit

Got my quote also, same specs as your guessing its the same installer as were both in Hampshire - Infinity Renewables?

16 panels and 9.2 kWh battery £14,899

Google reviews for Infinity Renewables aren't great. :cry:

What's with the £150 deposit? Is it refundable if you don't proceed after a proper survey?

Edit: from the information pack

You will get a full deposit refund if:
• You cancel the agreement before the roof survey is carried out, regardless of the reason
for cancelling.
• The installation has to be cancelled for one of the following reasons:
1. the system does not physically fit on the roof;
2. it would be a mistake to install the system, for example because the solar panels
pose a risk to the roof;
3. custom work or unforeseen additional costs are required to successfully install
the system, and you do not agree to this;
4. the roof ’s orientation turns out to be unfavourable;
5. there is too much shade on the roof, meaning the system would not be able to
live up to the expected generation;
6. the roof contains asbestos.

Just did a quick tot up on the additional costs on my quote as its a similar size to yours but was fully detailed.
All the roof mounting, switches, cabling etc are nearly £900 on top of the above items you have listed there.
