Solar panels and battery - any real world reccomendations?

You'll all be jealous. 0.79. Yep I was able to charge my mobile today! :D

I don't think we can call ourselves sponges... More like ultra heliophobic!

.4 here. Savage day. Fortunately we have been out most of the day and managed to grab food without needing to cook. Only used 6.3 from the battery so it's still + 50% now.
 
11.5 for December so far first 2 days were good, but Katie is cheating :)

Today is also the day I've ran out of the battery the earliest since my install in September, but this is the new norm really. By early evening it's ran low if I have no solar.

Only 8.1 for me this month! A long eight weeks or so before things start to improve.

It's funny, I never minded paying full rate 24/7 for electricity before I had solar/batteries, now it's really irritating!
 
do folks have to change (octopus) contracts during winter months away from preferential feed in ones, to the agile ones potentially giving lower off-peak battery recharge ?
