(SOLD OUT!!!!!!!!)**ANOTHER CRAZY SSD DEAL IS HERE: OCZ VERTEX 2E 60GB ONLY £29.99!!**

Really good deal, perfect for anyone just got my 128 fired up last week and this is looking like a candidate for my laptop just need to get my hand on an enclosure and esata cable for the 500gbhdd and i'm set

I put a Toshiba SSD 60gb in my wifes laptop to give it a bit of pep and its only sata 1 and it gives it a nice turn of speed so its worthing getting one for an older system too.

I would buy one of these as I am on the lookout for a cheap SSD for my 2½ year old's pc he will be getting this christmas.

Anyone who states that 60GB is not big enough for a boot drive are talking total rubbish. I have Win7, all my drivers, plus my browser on mine and I still have over 25GB spare. At what point are updates/drivers ever going to go past 25GB? Never.

Stonking deal even for a little games drive. Just move games on and off it as you please.

I have 170GB on my C drive so its not total rubbish.

I haven't made the jump to SSD yet, would you guys recommend getting two of these and RAID them? I haven't had RAID on any of my HD's, is it worth it?

Hi there

Here is some benchmarks from the Vertex 2E connected to a SATA3 port:-

As you can see the performance is pretty damn good, and all for £29.99 Inc. VAT. :D :D :D

On SATA2 the performance might be marginally better as they are obviously optimised for SATA2. :)

Remember!! There is free shipping to ALL using the code QUIDSSDFS at checkout!!

So if your a member but you dont get free shipping you now can!

Offer ends in around 2 days!

Gibbo do you reckon you would get around 100-125 read and write on a Sata 150 chip?

I suspect so yes, it will just hit the limit of the controller. If this is a desktop PC you could also always buy a controller card, we sell them for like £20 or for £25 buy a SATA3 controller. :)

not entirely sure what I'll be using it for, but at that price, figured I'd buy one anyway, will probably end up being my BF3/GW2 drive :D
That or put in a caddy for removable storage. as someone said earlier, it would be very cruel of you to now find a way to do a bloody silly price on a 240gb drive

Unfortunately the Adata SP900 256GB deal is the best we got at the moment. Month/Quarter end is over now so the deals have all faded of a little.

So for now this is it! :)

I will ask again...

Would this be useful for an old laptop with only 1.5gb of RAM? I just checked and it has a sata connection but will it make any difference with only that small amount of RAM?
