SOME RYZEN 7 1700 OVERCLOCKING!

Also can changing ram change the load temp? Yesterday I was at 3.9 stable no more than 62c since I have put the new ram in it now shooting up to 70c then crashing, I have reseated the the AIO twice so I don't think I have knocked anything, it is definitely getting hot because I can feel the heat in the tube

is your rad getting hot too cause if not i think your pump is bust bro

Lol. One of the things attracting me to the Gigabyte K7 is you can fully control the RGB's, including off :D
I didn't even notice there were RGB lights on the Prime!

No idea who designs these things, but when the PC is off the board defaults to a rather naff multicoloured light show ...

Gladly the Prime allows you to disable all the LEDs, especially since they cause coil whine on older Seasonic PSU designs

Ok I'm officially confused.

Had my CH6 arrive today, also got my Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 3200 arrive.

Spent over an hour tonight trying in vain to get the machine to POST on anything more than 2666mhz.

I've got the sticks in A2+B2, but setting the profile in the BIOS to 3200 or even 2900 results in no POST, tried setting voltage as high as 1.5v too but no dice.

Any clues or hints please?

Just make sure you can get it to 2666 for now until bios updates come...... gaming @2133 is terrible, 2400 minimum needed for gaming....

Try setting dram boot voltage to 1.35 and SOC voltage to 1.15.
Other than that, it's just a case of waiting for ASUS to pull their finger out and get the bios up to par with others like gigabyte.

Mine needed to up the soc voltage to around 1.1v also in order for it to boot. otherwise it will just BSOD when booting windows even when it does post.

I'm having the same problem with my gSkills

Thanks for the responses chaps.

REF the CPU side of things, is there a guide to overclocking the C6 and Ryzen for newbies? Last time i did this stuff it was 15 years ago... HB pencils and FSB.

Does anyone have Premiere CC here they could help me test an issue?

I can't export video above 3.3ghz on my 1700. I think (hope) it might be related to this FMA3 issue http://forum.hwbot.org/showthread.php?t=167605.

My system is stable for all other applications 3.4ghz - 4ghz.

I've done a sample Premiere project below that just has a sample video and a couple of demanding effects. If you can try to File > Export > Media to the default H264 settings and see if it processes OK on your overclock.

If I know it is a common issue I can stop digging.

Says project file is corrupt for me premier CS 6

I had a quick go last night using the settings that AMDmatt posted here

https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/t...-owners-thread.18771445/page-27#post-30598580

And it booted fine with my ram at 3000. I just lowered the cpu clock a little due to being on the stock cooler

Thanks mate.

Hopefully i can learn enough to write a noob guide some day. It's certainly daunting when my last OC on an Athlon T-Bird involved a HB pencil, FSB, multiplyer and voltage.... Lots more to factor now!

Thank god for that CMOS switch.

Has anyone done a reinstall of windows 7 on the crosshair? I'm trying to do one at the moment but when I get to the language page it doesn't recognise my keyboard or mouse I have them plugged into the usb2 ports but nothing. Anyone got any ideas?

Had that issue on the z97 sabertooth.

In usb settings look for an option like "EHCI hand off" It's more than likely on smart, I've had to set it to disabled.
