SOME RYZEN 7 1700 OVERCLOCKING!

crosshair.png

Can't maintain a stable 4.0 at 1.4v but I wont be keeping this speed due to stock cooler. And I'm 100% sure these temp readings are off.
But overall a very nice board and definitely a step up from the MSI tomahawk. This is my first high end board and I'm impressed even though I dont know what half of the settings are!

Bios 1001 allowed me to boot at 2933 as oppose to the 0902 doing 2666. Timings need a bit of work I think but still early days.

Does anyone have Premiere CC here they could help me test an issue?

I can't export video above 3.3ghz on my 1700. I think (hope) it might be related to this FMA3 issue http://forum.hwbot.org/showthread.php?t=167605.

My system is stable for all other applications 3.4ghz - 4ghz.

I've done a sample Premiere project below that just has a sample video and a couple of demanding effects. If you can try to File > Export > Media to the default H264 settings and see if it processes OK on your overclock.

If I know it is a common issue I can stop digging.

Anyone able to give the above a go on your Ryzen overclocks?

Trial of Premiere CC can be had from Adobes site.

Done a fresh Windows 10 install and the same crash happens :(

Sorry, forgot all about that. It'll have to wait til morning now as set timings for memory it didn't like, so will have to open up to reset.

Think am going to hook Cmos reset up to the reset switch on my case.

Got feeling will be needing it a bit til they have this all a bit more stable.

I got my 1700 to 3.9 stable with 1.3v but i don't really want to push it much higher than that. Got the memory to 2666 stable as well but it won't boot at all if I try 2933. Overall though I'm happy with it and after a few bios updates I'm sure i'll be able to push the memory higher.

Worked fine for me - though the trial version I downloaded was a newer version - it told me it was converting the project to be able to use it.

You using nvidia?

I still get the same after updating and converting too. I have a Radeon 7950.

To test the CPU only can you click File > Project Settings > General > Video Rendering and Playback - select Mercury...software only.

What CPU, Motherboard, Ram and overclock do you have exactly?

Thanks for testing.

That setting was already what was selected.

Have Asus X370 Pro, R7 1700 at 3.95 with 1.36V (couple of other voltages set), corsair Vengeance LPX32Gb 2800 @2667

Wow awesome chip...

Stable in what ? For how long ? Temps ?

No idea since I dont see the point in runnin prime, just for the sake of running it havent really ever used it, and all I really do with my pc is game.

Yeah I figured....selective stability testing...why not try and report back....not for you, for the community ....

Your picture shows it can encode nothing else...:p

Change the tune pal:

1. Everybody has a different use case, if they perform their standard workflows and it's stable for their needs, that's good enough is it not?

2. Everybody has a different CPU, board, memory, PSU. Doing A to B testing across different machines is exactly that, different machines. This isn't science, nor is it a competition.

Thanks, I'll be looking for 4ghz when my am4 bracket comes because......even numbers are better :p. Got some PK2 for it as well :) Good luck!

Corsair LPX CMK16GX4M2B3200C16 - They are single ranked but Hynix chips so not the ideal mix but doing ok. Had to run 2T and 2666mhz on the 0902 bios but can get 3200mhz on 5803 and 1001.

Same board, CPU, memory (sadly hynix too).

How are you getting them to boot at 3200 mate? Got mine to 2966 but would love to push them on.

Could you give me your voltage, timings, memory profile and whatever you may have changed.

Thank you!
