Something went wrong, ordered a Mustang, yet ended up in a British hotrod, I blame OcUK!

He might have 800HP but not much can live with the Jaaaaag to about 120 and he does not catch me until 180mph at which point I let off and brake early, was not confident on old brakes, when I go next time will run it all way to brake boards like her does and register an actual Vmax :)
That Jag launches like a ***nordy word***

Is the gearbox and other drive train parts good for 700+hp out of interest? I assume so....

Word on the street is Jaguar / SVO track tested the F-Type with upto 750HP and it passed.
Few guys US side running them with ported SC's, smaller pulleys, tunes, de-cats, charge coolers, methanol, 100 shot of nitrous for over 800HP and mid 9s quarters, without issue, I'd keep it simple around 700HP with the cooling system improved.

Isn't that normal testing though? To push the limits then reign it back a bit for the production version.

I'd be pretty miffed if a £100k+ car wasn't built to a very high standard.

I know someone who spent £75k on a Merc ML (no idea why) and it keeps breaking down, evwn the leather is falling apart. Unacceptable!

Great engine, just totally bonkers :D

I do hope they make a new engine for the next generation of their performance cars though... the 5.0 SV8 is getting a little predictable now what with it being in FFRR, RRS, RR velar, RR SVR, F type R, F type SVR, project 7 XE, XJR, XKR-S etc etc etc

Quick car, I suspect a sniff quicker than mine to the tonne too, maybe even over it but not much in it and mine is red and as we established using science, maths and crisps, red is the new ‘it’ colour

I am sure they will but you can bet it will be turbocharged and sound rubbish in comparison and not have as nice throttle response. I feel they could only improve on this engine by keeping it and even more power or going a new V8 with SC or V8 NA but I seriously doubt it and suspect the new F-Type shall be i4 Turbo, i6 twin turbo and then either a tuned up i6 twin turbo + hybrid or AMG or BMW M V8 Twin turbo. Great for all out performance but hey Porsche went the same way and well give me their flat 6 NA anyday over the new turbo crap sounding editions.

Epic machine, I’m still left astonished by its pick up and go from the last meet (thanks yet again for the ride Gibbo) I can only assume a few mild tweaks will only improve upon it although I do wonder if too much will just spoil the magical brew....

Just so not what you expect in the same sentence as the word “Jaguar” which makes it all the more epic to my mind!

@Gibbo the ram air affect with the pipes you did. I noticed the pipes at the top were some what covered near the top. Did you look at an option of routing them so they were at the bottom of the grill?

Could delete the snorkels all together and just run hosing in the lower grill, suspect a lot more water would get in though and other dirt/crud.
The pipes are not covered at the top as I've set them about an inch or so behind the front grill so the hole pipe can pull in air right from behind the grill as it a big open area back there and at speed that entire front grill area will be having a lot of air enter it and the hole diameter of the piping can suck in air, 2/3 can be seen from the grill and the other third is not blocked it just higher than the grill opening.

Saw a rather nice carbon black SVR at the Shell petrol station in Stone this afternoon, it sounded very “deep” and wasn’t running standard wheels or suspension to my uneducated eye, I asked the owner if it was stock and he said no, and that it was running approximately 100hp more than his M5 (so I’m assuming ~700hp) I followed it down the A34 for a few miles until it just simply disappeared in a glorious howl!

The shape of things to come for @Gibbo I couldn’t help but wonder.... :D

Just found this in random youtube browsing, sounds epic, thank you Jaguar for making your car sounds totally awesome bone stock. :D

This car is one of the Ring Taxi's and it's rapid. I tried to follow it for a lap on Saturday and managed it for a bit, but then we got to a bit that needs confidence (read more balls than I had) and off it went. Quick car in the hands of a driver who knows the ring. Sounded good.
