Sony Bravia KDL 50 W829

What's the difference between the 805, 807 and 809. Just seems to be the Motion rates? Anything majorly different between 800,900 and 1000? Why not just put figures on that people can understand!

For some reason i think it also has something to do with the color of the screen housing. But im not sure on that i just heard it somewhere.

Had a look in johnlewis yesterday at the wide variety of TVs.....trying to find a 50" for my lounge.

Went to look at the Panasonic cx680 which did look good but still can't decide if the upscale ability is worth it but the HD pictures are very nice. However, couldn't help notice the 802 sat next to it. With a price match and trade in offer, this could be had for £1150....pretty good but where do you draw the line.

Also checked out the Sony 805c.....no bells and whistles but my god the HD picture looked Good.

Still can't decide..... :-/. Any Panasonic owners?

Paid £670 for it and TBH everyone that has come round thinks it cost loads more. Total steal it is!!
The picture quality is EPIC!

What i like even more is that i dont even need to use the remote as it turns on/off via the Sony DN1050 amp :)

Only have to turn mine off with the remote, as comes on when i turn my Freesat box on :p

Picture is great though, much better than my old Tv, even the SD looks better on it. :D

EDIT:

If ive got one niggle, its the brightness, its end of my bed eye level, face on, got it maxed, and still looks slightly too dark, yet if i sit on my chair at the side of my bed, so im looking at an angle, and im a bit higher up, it looks way too bright. :p

Yes if I have an issue with this TV it's how it displays darker scenes - always seems a tad dark. Wheras any other scene is fine and very nice. Had a play with the settings but never found a sweet spot for it.

For anyone with any of the Bravia Android TVs, there's a page on the Sony support website with a bit of an explanation/apology for features not being in place and updates not being timely. You can also sign up to be emailed about future updates and what progress is being made; the one due today has been postponed to 28th October.

Edit: Never mind, got another email to say the update is out, so either they fixed the bugs or they launched it anyway!

Seems to have added PlayStation Video and Opera TV apps. Nothing exciting, although the wi-fi icon at the bottom of the homescreen does work properly now at least.

Going to hookup my Mac Mini to the TV this weekend, any recommendations on picture settings? Mostly will be used for Kodi, YouTube, Netflix and browsing.

Currently my consoles are on Game mode and Sky is on Cinema mode.

Just wall mounted :) Still not to happy with the colors on this panel :) really considering buying a calibrator or getting someone in to calibrate. Seem to get a chunk of edge lighting bleed too.

Strange question but has anyone wall mounted their TV and not used the stand to do this?

I did and now need to put it back on the stand with moving house but I cant find the legs that slide into the slots on the bottom of the TV :(

Dont mind paying for them off someone if they are not going to use them. :)
