SOS I cant install the CPU

Dude.. before you even BOOT the thing make sure the cpu notches are properly aligned, it should fall in flush into the LGA socket and please say you're joking about the hammer, theres nothing in a PC that can't be pushed in by hand force alone.

No guys it sounds worse than it is lol, the hammering was completely safe, because we removed the lid from the motherboard mechanism. We took it to the balcony (where the ground is hard) and hammered away, it had nothing to do with hammering the CPU lol that would be crazy.

Now the wiring is nearly done and yes I will post pics when it's all finished.

I hope I can install windows correctly :S

P.S the fan controller headers have got me baffled.

Its got 4 pins and you got 3? It'll line up fine with one pin unused, just line up the notches and push it in, don't use a hammer :D

lmao :) oh and stand well back when you switch it on :p
sorry to sound mean, just granted we all were newcomers to building pc's once, but I doubt many of us were spending that amount :p

+ good luck, I'll stop with these pointless posts when I cannot think of any more as of now they are pretty entertaining, just thinking of someone hammering a mobo

Classic!

Tip: Next time ask someone here (or Google-it) for a pic of their component(s) to compare. See here for example.

Also, keep your Dad away from the PC

lol. my build went a bit wrong. Put the processor in and turned on. Forgotten to take the peel of plastic of the thermal pad

Oh well lol. I never took it of. Running at 40oc so it seems to be alright. Just glad I have an aftermarket cooler coming.

p.s how many applications do you get with a tube of as5.

cheers

:(

Well I am glad this brought a smile to your faces but right now the day after 7 hours of work and complications and more work I am sitting here with a comp that wont even turn on, and I don't know where/how to look for possible problems.

Please can you help me I feel real bad too because my dad paid for most of it and I might have screwed up, but then again it might be a wire in the wrong place or a faulty PSU or something, all options are open but because of a lack of experience I don't know what to do from here.

:(

It would be useful to list your entire pc spec, each component, and what you have managed to do up to this point so that we can help you and suggest things to try.
