South Korea Jeju air plane crash

Yep. Assuming the aircraft lands in the correct place. In this case that looks to not have happened.
Yep, it's an easy modification I suspect in most cases. Looking at the antenna at Aberdeen Airport, whilst the concrete foundations appear to be 2 feet above ground, there's an earth/gravel bank been built up in front of it.

A quick google shows planes are hitting the ILS antenna all the time as well, so it's just been luck there's not been a much worse incident up till now.

This plane crashed into a grassy bank. It doesn't really matter what you crash into at that speed.

It's hardly mission impossible to dig proper foundations.
I'm just not entirely sure what problem that solves. The plane still blows up, just in the field over and it looks cooler. Maybe more people survive, maybe everyone dies, it's impossible to know. I don't think it'll be worth the time, downtime and money to change these these things when it's probably been assessed plenty of times at airports all over the world.

Agreed. Jokester missed fight club I think :D

Yeah, gonna go out and say it but that wall is the problem! Holy cow. It just hits it and disintegrates - genuinely don't know how there are 2 survivors.
Nothing to do with the immense speed, no flaps, hitting the runway half way down, half reverse thrusters and no landing gear?

Planes have come down in similar conditions and with enough of a run-off there have been survivors.
Pilot maintains a straight path down the runway so there's obviously some level of control. Take that wall out of the equation and the chances of survival are going up significantly.

Ok but take all the things I've said out of the equation and they may have survived.

Did I really just read this.
The plane is on its ass sliding down the runway with nothing but chassis grinding against tarmac....there is no control there.

The front 3/4 seem to act as a giant crumple zone. That said, those survivors are going to have some serious PTSD and is there any report on their injuries?

Crazy how people can be thrown out of the front half in a giant explosion, meanwhile those in the rear survive.
