Spanish Football 2011-2012

Yup, if Real win the league and Ronaldo wins the gold boot again, euro/la liga or both then I'd be very surprised if they didn't give him Ballon d'Or next time around.

Though for me, even though he's scoring like a machine, his football was better last year, he was down right ridiculous last year, he scored more crackers really, more solo goals, more long range goals, maybe it just seemed that way. I think with few other players scoring much his goals stood out and were the difference between winning and not where as this year at least 3 other players scoring well, even though he's scoring at the same rate pretty much, his goals have been less important in terms of winning or not.

On the topic of Real Madrid how good do people think they actually are?

they've improved from last season, but with there defence they still need the midfield/forwards to work harder, and i think thats where barca out perform them when they match up.

i like the sound of my own voice.

Do you really believe the carp you come out with?

Barca are not worse, I have watched, do watch and know more than you ever will - chumps like you probably never kicked a ball in anger and for some reason think that watching a few games on the box makes you an expert.

It dont and clearly you using maths to prove Barca are a worse team is a joke.

Facts are; They have won every competition available so far. They are in their domestic cup semis iirc, all but into the Chumps League Quats and are still in a title race that has been blown open by Real for their solid run to open up.

Stop using Reals improvement to put Barca down.. dosent work like that. Barca look after themselves and are still on pace for around 88pts enough to win La Liga in 8 out of 10 years (probably more if I went back further).

Your 'league record' bull also then points to the non-European Champion team of 2010 being better than the European Champions of 2011... well done.

Ill leave it like this

Watch Barcas games this year, also watch last years - dont reply telling me about maths or how you are loved by all forum members. All you sound is clueless about football and im actually ashamed that I have to debate with someone that idiotic, its not your fault though so I wont be too harsh.

He has pointed out the most irrelevant tosh and yet you too are on him like a pair of fags at a George Michael orgy.

Come on - im embarrased for you...

I think the only one in here that should be embarrassed is you.

Additionally, DM talks absolute waffle most of the time and doesn't have forum friends or chums really :D So don't tar me with that brush!

When you are 10 points behind in the league i think it safe to say that you are worse than last year. You want stats? Go compare barca's away record this year to last years.

Not saying that this is the reason for Barca's dropped points this season but isn't it funny how for the past 2 years they've had a pretty settled front 6, week in week out it was Iniesta, Xavi, Busquets, Messi, Pedro & Villa (ok Villa's only been around for 1 season prior to this but you get the point). This season though they've messed with that brining in the likes of Fabregas, Sanchez and Thiago, all brilliant players all have done well individually but could it be a case that Barca have broke what didn't need to be fixed?

Many people looked at someone like Pedro and saw him as a weak link in that front 3 but fact is he worked for Barca perfectly, it seems to me it could be a case of them buying players for the sake of it and looking at it on a wider scale you can probably question their transfer dealings for a while now, Zlatan was hardly the best bit of business they've ever done and Villa has had probably just as many dry spells in front of goal as he has purple patches.

Just a thought that's all. I do find it ironic that Csec went there to win trophies and it's quite conceivable that one of the main ones Barca might not be winning for the first time in years :p

I think its more the injuries than general tinkering. Pedro, iniesta, alexis, villa have all been in the dry dock for weeks at different times.

Wow, read over what you just said, everything being crap. I haven't used Real's improvement to put down Barca, Barca are NOT on course for 88 points, at their present rate of points per game they are on course for 83 points, which would NOT have won them the title in as many years as you say so that is yet another point in which you've got very basic maths wrong, as you've done in every post.

You haven't read my posts because I have not used maths to prove Barca are crap, nor have I said Barca are crap, I've watched Barcelona, watched them lose and draw more games than last year, watch them win more games narrowly than last year, watched them give up the lead or go behind more often than last year before getting a narrow win, watched them play worse than last year............... AND every single statistic backs up the fact they are playing worse.

Ignoring your daft "points vs other seasons", except for the fact you were AGAIN WRONG and can't do simple maths correctly, the league has become significantly more two teams vs the rest in recent years, the tv money deals have become more one sided for the two top teams who easily outpace the rest of the league in money earned, they've outspent everyone in wages massively and improved their teams while most other teams haven't spent. The gap has widened significantly and they wouldn't have won the league in most of the years since the new tv money has been making that gap bigger.

Then the final thing ridiculous and incorrect statement you made...... a team who doesn't win a Euro cup can't be better than one that does, this is a known fact is it? Really? Cups are still that, cups, knock out, luck, any team, even the best team in the world can have a single bad game, quite simply every single person on earth would agree that Barca in that year were a massively, massively, massively better team than Inter were, Inter got a fluke result playing anti football, crap happens.

If Barca were better that year or the year after is debatable but suggesting its "proven" because they lost one particular game one season and won it the next is utterly ridiculous.

Oh, as for winning every mickey mouse competition they've been in so far this year. You do realise who they played for the World Club Cup, Super Cup and Euro Super Cup are all closer to friendlies than "cups" and no one anywhere gives a crap about any of them, with two of them being played pretty much before either team is really match fit yet.

Team's change, injuries happen and frankly and it would seem one of the bigger reasons, Barca had just gotten a bit predictable and stale, they would still win but teams are also changing how they play against them. I said it two years ago, getting at that Barca defence causes more mayhem than sitting back and waiting for a great attack. 2 seasons ago just about every team, Inter and Real included sat back all game long every game.

2 years on, Real have a real go at them and half the league has realised they lose if they sit back and have a real chance at nabbing goals against Pique and Puyol if they go at them. So barca are having to change their game a bit to be better defensively. Pedro might be very effective in attack but that doesn't necessarily mean he works in games where Barca are being attacked a lot and they need more cover on the wings and defensively.

Injuries have played a part but not a massive one. Most of the upsets in points have come when Guardiola has played 3 at the back for no reason, or dropped almost the entire midfield for a game that should have been a cake walk and given them all some confidence with a 8-0 type win, and he failed to rest the most tired player in the squad.

Different games have been lost for different reasons but ultimately compared to Barca 2 years ago, their opposition are playing against them differently, the squad has changed, Puyol lost his form while out injured and so far hasn't got it back, Pique has gotten more useless(or has been less covered by Puyol at the top of his game) and Guardiola's odd formations have cost them several times.

Benzema wasn't it. EDIT_ just seen a longer replay, seems to be being counted as Benzema's though not sure if it was across the line when Ramos touched it, nice little chip over the keeper from Benzema anyway.

Hadn't noticed the early week result, Vela with another goal and assist in a 2-0 win. Vela starting to perform after a run of games, which is what I've always expected to happen with him, quality player but after 6 months with no games the few chances he got he was never match fit, not sharp and not as fast. A decent run of games and he's getting goals and assists.

Scored a cracker earlier in the season against Malaga. Really hope we get a new manager and he gets a decent run next year.
