Spanish Grand Prix 2016, Catalunya - Race 5/21

Indeed, and as an ex racer/marshall myself I can tell you the stewards will have a lot more data available than those of us sitting at home judging the decision. And I also say this as a fan of Lewis.

Maybe we should email them a copy of the rulebook with rule 27.7 highlighted - just to be sure.

Today we saw the good side and the bad side of F1.

The good? An 18 year old, level headed teenager seemingly with more personality than most modern drivers taking his first win.

The bad? The fact that Horner has found someone to fap over again for the first time since Sebby. That foot is jiggling up and down on the pitwall for a reason you know :o

In other news, Ginger Spice still has great norks and 2 sulks crashed into each other.

Wasn't that long ago he was all over Ricciardo.

LOL nice.

I still think merc and Lewis will come through to win this year, and indeed, he will continue living elsewhere to avoid the UK getting much if any of his tax receipts. Real team sulker ;)

Sit back and wait and pressure him into a pass? Like Kimi did to Max, or Ricciardo did to Vettel?

Its hilarious how quickly people suggest drivers should have not bothered to try and make a pass when it goes wrong. Do you guys just want to see processions? Or perhaps just ever single overtake done with DRS? Maybe they should just give points for qualifying and not bother with the race, that way nobody will make the stupid decision to try and pass someone!
Considering how Lewis' season has gone so far then yes. He needs to pick up points consistently. He won't win every race and pick up 25 points. 18 points today, had he finished 2nd to Nico would have meant he'd be 50 points behind Nico with 15 races left. 18 points today and 50 behind or even 25 points and 36 points behind would be better than crashing out and not getting any points at all and losing a race with which to score points. Lewis wouldn't have liked following Nico home to a Mercedes 1-2 but if it had helped him get some points under his belt that would be better than nothing.

Lewis will never have class like Schumacher. Lewis always reminds me of a snot nose little gangsta pup who is always cocky and big headed. Saying that, Rosberg isn't far off but not as bad. Let alone Vettel whining and bitching over the radio. I must grass on the guy!

Yeah you just get labeled a fanboy. Apparently the cool thing is to just make up rules and assume all drivers are psychic.

Can't help but feel that if the roles were reversed and Lewis was infront, you'd be saying it wasn't his fault somehow... :D

How the heck can the stewards not allocate blame to that Nico/Lewis clash? Unbelievable considering Lewis was on the grass, not on concrete/tarmac like Bahrain, at the incident which caused this rule to be introduced!

Well done to Verstappen but I'm getting sick and tired of Red Bull's antics. It's blatantly obvious that they're sacrificing everyone else at the alter of their new wonder-boy. They were looking for any excuse to ditch Kvyat and get him into the main team, then today they screwed Ricciardo over on strategy so Max could win.

It's the same mentality we saw with Vettel where Webber was continually expected to play second fiddle. We should be grateful that Mercedes have some scruples and allow their drivers to race rather than Horner and Marco's system of picking your favourite and then screwing over the other guy at every opportunity.

I never thought I'd see the day Ricciardo was trying to hide his angry face. It is that strange to not see him so jovial. You could see how gutted he was while trying not to look cheesed off.

Just because Max won doesn't mean he was on the best strategy. It was a gamble and due to circumstances on the track it paid of but just barely.

I'd love to see Ricciardo break down that would be great to watch. Max is keeping him on his toes now. Looking forward to next race after Monaco as that track is boring. I think Canada follows on from that so it should be fun which is a word I would never have associated with F1 this year.
