Personally I prefer Spartacuses wife and the brunette who appears a few times in the later episoded. Nom, nom...
As for swearing, you get used to it and I think it does "help" the program. Instead of having a sanitised version it seems to be a more "real" version of what would actually be happening at that time (complete with the gay kissing and sex, from both sides)...

Well yeah, they probably spoke in Latin, but latin swear word would probably be a bit odd when they are speaking English the rest of the time.
Swearing (especially those two words) goes part and parcel to that sort of "life", just look at soldiers now, they all swear like troopers...

Correct, or so i read.
They also said he is recovering well and will be picking it up again where it all left off in season 1.
Only read briefly on one site, so may be wrong info.
