Spartacus: Blood and Sand

Only just recently watched this and thought it was a fantastic series that really gripped me from start to finish. Although had been watching it on the train on the way to work so the sex scenes were a bit ackwards when people glanced over and caught a glimpse of what I was watching. :p

Really bad news about Andy Whitfield getting cancer again, could see that resulting in this getting knocked on the head as I don't think it would be too popular if he was replaced.
 
Awful news about Andy, was really looking forward to seeing him resume his role for Season 2.

It looks like even if he gets through this he wont be back, which is a damn shame.
 
Hopefully they will hold on production and wait for him.

If the prequal goes well they may end it in away they can do another season of that, unless it's been stated that it would end just before spartacus arrives in the story time line.
 
A great series - granted, a bit of no-brain television - but thoroughly enjoyable with highlights for me being the...

Certainly leaves things open for the next series - which I really hope 'Spartacus' makes a full recovery for!

Also typical really, seems any US programs I like are either chopped or unable to carry on whereas all the **** like lost and the west wing that carry on for a million series do.:(
 
Hope he recovers, as much as its a blow to us that love the show, its got to be a much nastier blow to him personally, get well soon fella.

Spartacus was due to apear in a couple of the later espisodes of the prequel so I assume it isn't set too long before the original series.
 
Damn that's a big shame - all the best to Andy and family - get well soon Spartacus :)

/having seen him in some youtube clips recently doing real time Time Crisis I had hoped he was on the mend / getting ready to get back to filming :/

West Wing... ****... dear me, somebody doesn't understand the caliber of writing Aaron Sorkin brought to Television with this series.

you might not have liked the premise for the show, but to call it **** is a bit far, especially when it won so many awards, the modern day equivalent of the west wing is today's Breaking Bad and Mad Men, they are the only shows that have come close to being as intelligent with their writing as Aaron Sorkin managed to sustain for 4 years.

and for those hoping they'll postpone production, it's not happening, he announced he was Leaving Spartacus which means its either going to be a likely recast for Season 2 or a season without the title character (highly unlikely) :(
 
Best of luck to Starz with that - can't see it working out no matter who they cast as Spartacus to be perfectly honest!

Andy just fit the role so perfectly it really would be better in my mind to end the show but I guess they have shareholders to please and so if there's a chance it can go on I'm sure it will ...

Shame it was boring as sin, which matters more to me than awards...:p

Not sure how I feel about a new main character, guess it will be like all programs that do this, in a year or two, after watching the whole new series we will think the original cast was odd.
